Apparatchiks have their orders: conjure a Communist threat inside America, associating with it the entire Dem Party, to prepare people to accept whatever authoritarian crackdown the administration may be planning to stop elections from handing them a defeat.
ALERT: Avoid Copley Square right now.
Someone has apparently barricaded themselves inside a room at the Fairmont Copley Plaza and has installed a banner with conspiracy-related messages outside their hotel window.
There is a large police presence outside the hotel right now.
Two more Americans dead. The president must go to Congress -and to the American people - and explain why he’s gambling with the lives of U.S. service members.

I think about this all the time. The weakest people need a strongman. But the strongmen are always weak and broken themselves. They break things because they are broken. They are cruel because they are weak. We are living through an age of weak and broken men.
Pete Hegseth's mother on Pete Hegseth:
"I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around, and uses women for his own power and ego.
"You are that man and have been for years.
"As your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that."
Watters: Women on base, you better be careful. Port calls, women in Asia, you better be careful. Because these guys are going to be wild animals and you better watch out.
Tired Fascist & cold war playbook- has no traction. Imitating Pinochet will tank GOP even more. Plus US Aspiring Supreme Leader loves commies Xi and Kim so that is a complication.
Real question and I don’t care who it pisses off, why should we vote for Republicans in November?
Mass deportations aren’t happening. Most of us are single issue voters on immigration and DHS under Markwayne has decided they would rather appease CNN and MSNBC.
Republicans won’t pass Save America, they won’t support the mass deportations we voted for. They haven’t done, frankly, jack shit outside of a tax cut extension.
So why? Why push Maine to vote for Susan Collins? Because at least she’s not an admitted communist? In the end, though, what’s really the difference?
Vote Republican, get Democrat policy anyway.
.@SenSusanCollins voted for the $70 billion Republican-backed bill to fund all this through the end of the Trump administration.
Maine, vote accordingly.
Susan Collins is very distressed.
So very, very upset.
She's strongly considering a proposal to establish a panel to assess the possibility of a moderately-worded statement over the latest ICEstapo murder in Maine.
What is this statement?
Susan Collins is the chair of the appropriations committee. She is responsible for providing ICE the funds that led to the murder of a man in her state. Stop acting like a helpless bystander.
I certainly hope my senior senator will not vote to confirm Todd Blanche as AG this week. J6 slush fund? Hidden Epstein files and Ghislaine in a cushy “prison” cell? Will you tell the voters of Maine that you are okay with these outrages, @SenatorCollins?
Lindsey Graham was one of the main subjects of a @TheAtlantic cover story I wrote in 2020, on why people collaborate with regimes they know are immoral. Here's a gift link:

All the signals are flashing red, the latest being @POTUS's summary dismissal of the remaining Federal Election Assistance Commission members.
Put that together with political hack Pulte's odious appt as DNI; election deniers in the most sensitive oversight positions; Trump's exec order on mail-in voting, and potential use of the Postal Service as a weapon of subversion; his pathological prioritization of the SAVE act, which would be the most powerful voter suppression tool in generations; and his persistent, unfounded claims of election fraud, which he uses to justify extraordinary federal interventions.
On the square, the @GOP would take a beating this fall, largely because of Trump's unpopularity.
So he's setting up Plan B--do whatever you need to do to win. Anything.
Anyone who says "Well, he wouldn't do THAT" hasn't paid attention. He's already proven he will!
So the period AFTER the Midterms may be even more turbulent than the run up to them.
The courts are going to be very busy this fall.
