Child Marriage: A Call for Collective Action

Child marriage has not yet been fully eradicated; it persists in both rural and urban areas. However, due to continuous government initiatives, awareness campaigns, and an overall increase in public consciousness, it has decreased significantly. In many places, girls themselves have stood up against this practice, choosing to hold books instead of getting married. While the challenge remains, consistent efforts are yielding results.

The ultimate goal is complete eradication. To achieve this, non-governmental organizations are working alongside the government. I was recently approached by one such organization to write a Jhumur song to raise awareness against child marriage. They believed that through this folk art form, the message would resonate easily with the local people. I, @ashokemahata1, wrote the lyrics, and the renowned Jhumur artist, Tapas Mahata, has lent his voice to the song.

I love Jhumur as I have grown up with this culture. However, the final outcome turned out even more beautiful than I had imagined. As this is the first time a song written by me has been recorded, the excitement is natural. I welcome constructive criticism for any flaws.

Let us keep our focus on the core issue: may my district, state, and country become free from child marriage. Let this be our pledge. I hope that with the joint efforts of the government and the people, we will succeed one day.

We must put books in the hands of our daughters for the welfare of the society and the nation. Many congratulations to Kalyani Mahata from Nayagram block, who is actively participating in such awareness programs and spreading the message to others.

Together, we will build a nation free from child marriage.

Only the families of children with Autism and special needs truly understand the financial and emotional toll of traveling to Kolkata or other major cities and staying there for regular therapy.

Considering the immense treatment costs and current inflation, JSM has submitted a written appeal to the Hon'ble CM @SuvenduWB demanding the setup of modern Therapy Centres in government medical colleges across all districts, and an increase in the monthly disability allowance from ₹1,500 to ₹5,000.

We are hopeful for prompt and positive action on this crucial issue.

অটিজম, ADHD, সেরিব্রাল পালসি ও অন্যান্য স্নায়ুবিকাশজনিত সমস্যায় আক্রান্ত প্রতিটি শিশু সময়মতো থেরাপি, মানসম্মত পুনর্বাসন ও সমান সুযোগ পাওয়ার অধিকারী—সে শহরে থাকুক বা গ্রামে। আমরা @cmowbgov-কে প্রতিবন্ধী সহায়তা আরও শক্তিশালী করা, জেলা স্তরে বিশেষায়িত পরিষেবা সম্প্রসারণ এবং প্রতিটি পরিবারের জন্য সাশ্রয়ী ও সহজলভ্য থেরাপি ও পুনর্বাসন নিশ্চিত করার আবেদন জানাই।

Every child with Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy and other neurodevelopmental conditions deserves timely intervention, quality rehabilitation and equal opportunities regardless of where they live. We urge the @cmowbgov to strengthen disability support, expand district-level services, and ensure affordable access to therapy and rehabilitation for every family.

ঝাড়গ্রাম শহরের চাঁদাবিলা এলাকার বিনয়কৃষ্ণ মুদি নামে বছর ৩৪ এর যুবক কয়েকবছর ধরে নিখোঁজ আছেন। বিভিন্ন সময় ভিন্ন ভিন্ন নম্বরে ফোন এলেও একটু কথা বলার পরেই ফোন কেটে যায়। পরিবার আশায় দিন গুনে কিন্তু বিনয়কৃষ্ণ মুদি ঘরে ফিরেনি। বিনয়কৃষ্ণের ঘরে রয়েছে তাঁর বাবা - মা, স্ত্রী, ছোট বাচ্চা ও ভাই। এই গুরুত্বপুর্ণ বিষয় নিয়ে গতকাল ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলা পুলিশের SP স্যারের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন জঙ্গলমহল স্বরাজ মোর্চার কেন্দ্রীয় সভাপতি শ্রী @ashokemahata1 ।

হঠাৎ নির্বাচনের পূর্বে এমন একটি ফোন আসে। সেই নম্বরের ভিত্তিতে কর্ণাটক রাজ্যে গিয়ে যোগাযোগ করে তাঁদের পরিবারের এক পরিচিত সদস্য। বিনয়কৃষ্ণের সঙ্গে দেখা হয়। কিন্তু যেখানে আছে সেখান থেকে ফেরার বিষয়ে রয়েছে নানান জটিলতা। এমনটাই পরিবারের পক্ষ জানতে পারা যায়।

কদিন আগে অশোক মাহাত পুরো বিষয়টি জানতে পারেন চাঁদাবিলা এলাকার স্থানীয় দুই যুবকের মাধ্যমে। এরপরই গতকাল সেই স্থানীয় যুবক প্রদীপ মাহাত, অশোক মাইতি সহ অশোক মাহাত এবং বিনয়কৃষ্ণের বাবাকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে জেলা পুলিশ সুপারের নিকট যাওয়া হয়। অশোক মাহাত ও বিনয়কৃষ্ণের বাবা মাননীয় SP স্যারের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করে পুরো ঘটনাটা বলেন । উনি শোনেন ও আশ্বস্ত করেন এবং ঝাড়গ্রাম থানায় ঘটনাটি লিখিতভাবে জানানোর জন্য বলেন।

বিষয়টি জানানো হয়েছে। আমরা আশাবাদী প্রশাসন ও আইনের সহযোগিতায় বিনয়কৃষ্ণ মুদি-কে তাঁর পরিবারে দ্রুত ফিরে পাবে।

There are over a billion mobile subscribers in the country, and the majority of them rely on regular recharge plans.

We all know that a year consists of 12 months. However, the validity of most so-called "monthly" mobile recharge plans is only 28 days. As a result, customers are forced to recharge about 13 times a year instead of 12.
Naturally, the question arises: when a calendar month has 30 or 31 days, why is the validity of a "monthly" recharge plan restricted to just 28 days ?

This is a crucial consumer rights issue that affects the interests of crores of mobile users. Although questions have been raised regarding this matter at various times, a permanent solution has yet to be found.

Yesterday, JSM submitted a written appeal to @TRAI, requesting that the validity of "monthly" recharge plans be extended to at least 30 days.

Let us all spread awareness about this issue and raise our voices demanding a fair and transparent recharge system.

🚨 Missing Migrant Worker 🚨

Mahabir Murmu (21), resident of Village - Kultar, P.O. - Sirkabad, P.S. - Arsha, District - Purulia, West Bengal, has gone missing while returning home from Tamil Nadu, where he was working as a migrant labourer.

According to the family, he left Tamil Nadu on 20 May 2026 to return home. The last conversation with him took place over mobile phone on 23 May 2026 from the Sohagpur area of Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh. After that, his mobile phone has remained switched off and the family has not been able to contact him.

We appeal to the authorities of Madhya Pradesh Police, West Bengal Police, GRP, and RPF to take urgent steps to trace him and ensure his safe return.
