@codepo8 Whats worse than the fact that people are using these passwords is that a company with 2.5TB of user data (so probably a large company) is clearly still storing unhashed, or at least unsalted, passwords.
@MajellaODea @ciaranmartinoxf @MacGillSchool I feel that security risk assessments do have a tendency to focus on the bad actor risks (and sometimes just box-ticking security theatre) and ignore the real risk of introducing complex, closed software into incredibly trusted positions, often integrated deeply into the OS.
@VaughnVernon @functionaltypes I like TS, but you have to be aware that it's just JS under the covers and there's no runtime type safety. I've seen devs think that type assertions are type casts and come a cropper (and the number of tutorials that describe them as the latter too is quite worrying).
After a lengthy absence, @NHSBT have got Club biscuits back in the after-donation refreshments. This might be the greatest thing thatโs happened in recent times!
Attempting to pay for some parking with @RingGo_parking but their entire service is completely fudged! I feel for their tech staff who are probably having a very bad day...
Iโve noticed quite a few sites do some kind of โback-jackingโ technique where if you follow a link to an article and then click the back button it takes you to the siteโs homepage rather then your original page. I can see why they do it, but it feels like bad web-etiquette to me.
@rem Weโve got one of the kids thermal printer cameras - the โphoto creator instant cameraโ. On the face of it youโd think it would be a bit naff, but itโs actually great fun and costs almost nothing to run.
