@ToreeBlack Set the groundwork for the next battle. Be it another initiative here or elsewhere or to defend affirmative action in the courts, we'll be there! :)
As we await election results, we will continue the important work toward a more fair and just society for all of us. "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” -MLK Jr.

Our coalition may find a new name and new ballot measure in a few years - however long it takes - but the students of color, womxn, and orgs that made up #BruinsForProp16 will continue to fight for higher education access and equity for BIPOC students.
@wlj1223 No ulterior motive. Literally, you have BLM in your bio. We had the founders of BLM and all major civil rights groups on our side. Aff axn is already widely practiced in the 41 states, the federal govt, and the private sector. If you wanna chat on zoom, we can.
@soulflowerjess It’s already over, but there are other anti-discrimination laws that protect against animus. So MALDEF and Advancing Justice and the ACLU still supported it. Well, maybe another time. Stay safe!

@its_adrian_tho We know it's confusing. The 1996 ban on affirmative action was deceptively written by a man who doesn’t believe in systemic racism. The ban was supported by David Duke / opposed by Rosa Parks, Dr. King’s family, and all civil rights groups. #Prop16 repeals that ban. #YesOnProp16!
