The kick-off meeting for the Technology Needs Assessment of Tanzania🇹🇿 took place today! We're excited to work together with @mfa_tanzania, the @DsfaFishing and the TNA inter-ministerial committee to identify the key priority tech needs for 🇹🇿.

We are grateful to Mr. Zahor El Kharousy, Deputy Principal Secretary of Blue Economy and Fisheries for his support and participation in the kick-off meeting. We also thank Ms. Shabnam Mallick, Head of RCO @UnitedNationsTZ for her opening remarks, emphasizing the role of the TNA in identifying priority sectors in 🇹🇿 that could benefit from tech transfer and capacity building.

Stay tuned for more updates on the TNA process in 🇹🇿 in the coming months!

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’ni kuran insanlar basit maceracılar, küskünler veya kendine yer arayanlar değildir. Her birinin imparatorlukta komutan olarak, bürokrat olarak, münevver olarak seçkin bir yeri zaten var idi. Örneğin Halide Edip Hanım sıradan bir entelektüel değildir. İstanbul’da kalsa da kendisine iltifat edilirdi. Okunurdu. 1930’larda İngiltere’de basılan kitaplarıyla sadece Türkiye’yi anlatmamıştır; Hindistan davasına bile mihenk olmuş insanlardan biridir. Yani bugünkü Müslüman Pakistan’ın doğuşu onun fikirlerindendir. Eşi Dr. Adnan Bey’in öğrencileri ünlü Türkologlar olmuşlardır: Bernard Lewis’ten İrene Melikoff’a kadar uzanan bir liste ve hepsi de hocalarına hayrandılar. Onun için “Doğu’yu da Batı’yı da bilen adam” diyorlar.

Peki, bu insanlar neden Anadolu’ya geçtiler? Mustafa Kemal’in kendisi Birinci Dünya Savaşı’nda ismini duyurmuş, saygın komutanlardan biriydi. Bilgili, kültürlü… Saray bile ona karşı saygılı davranıyordu. Makamı, mevkii ve itibarı vardı. O halde tekrar soralım: Neden Anadolu’ya geçti? Tarihî bir macera mı arıyordu? Ya Kazım Karabekir neden geçti? Aynı şekilde Doktor Refik Saydam… Keza Ali Fuat Paşa, neden gidiyor?

Hepsinin yerleri, mevkileri var; Osmanlı’da kariyerleri söz konusu. Ama onlar büyük bir kavga için gidiyorlar. Dünyada birçok idareci var. Birinci Dünya Savaşı’nı yürüten büyük liderler, komutanlar içinde çok azı kalıcı olabilmiştir. Hepsi kariyerleri itibariyle sonradan tartışılmıştır. Bazıları ise ters işler yapmış, Birinci Dünya Savaşı’ndaki kariyerlerine kendileri çamur sıçratmışlardır. Bütün bu kalabalığın içinden sivrilen, temiz bir şekilde ortada kalanlar Türkiye’deki cumhuriyeti kuran insanlardır. Böyle bir yakın tarihe malik olduğumuz için onlara şükran duymalıyız.

Biz, paraları az olsa da onurlu babaların çocuklarıyız. Gösterdikleri yollarla bize iyi kapılar açtılar. Açtıkları yoldan gidemiyorsak bu kendi kabahatimizdir.
