@ctjlewis I think for most kids outside of NYC it was rather abstract. But the teachers were full IT'S HAPPENING, so there wasn't gonna be class. IIRC they wanted to send kids home straight away, but even that takes time to do properly (summon buses, check each kid has housekeys, etc)
