i hope the fans who are so afraid of leaving kudos or comments understand that when authors receive paragraphs for comments after a chapter update we want to kiss you sloppy style
thinking thoughts about whether the notion of people desperately clinging to "Canon" (and thinking queer headcanons are disrespectful to the author because they're not canon) are a direct result of "what did the author mean by this?"-english lit education
@maraganger had an entire seminar once on first impressions vs close readings vs discussions (in a school context) and non or misunderstandings of a text are such an important skill for readers on their way to understanding literature!! you need to not understand a text to understand a text
@OttawaCentaurs_ to be fair though, shane also never once researches anything related to russia & its lgbtq laws. i'm 99% sure his reading is strictly hockey related lmfao (that being said, i adore this hc, who needs canon anyways)
wdym you don't create an outline of all chapters, write random bits and pieces of dialogue or prose that hits your mind at 3 am, abandon the whole thing every other day and write [find transition] every other scene?????
I wish timelapses for writers are a thing because I get so curious about how people write out their fics hehe. When writing a chapter do you just bang it out from start to finish? Do you jump all over the place? Do you write notes to yourself as you type? Involve Me

if i liked it, i leave a comment (of varying length). if i loved it, i bookmark it and if i really loved it, i'll add it to my collections (or even rec). and if it's like one of my very VERY favourite ones, i'll add a note to the bookmark lmao
if i finish it i kudo it <3 even if simply for the pleasure of seeing "you've already left kudos here" on a fic i didn't even remember bc it wasn't That Great either time
do yall not give kudos to every fic you read? bc i be pushing that button every single time, those authors put their time and effort to write those fics, i feel like the least i can do is give a kudo
@minrozanov i have a reading journal where i add every book i read and rate it (i.e. take a few notes (basically just jumbled thoughts)) and that actually helped me break out of a years long reading slump + i love finishing a book and adding it to the journal <3
@ofsongbaird i found frankenstein to have the most grating and whiny personality (as a narrator) but it is such an objectively great book that i just can't hate on it
@barbaravlpz@LiamsSunsetter i think pbn is a general reflection on fame/1d (the juxtaposition of "what a gift it is to be noticed" and mourning not having a "normal" life) & imo it's a very valid assumption that liam inspired this in parts
