Karsan Autonomous e-JEST, Automated by ADASTEC, Begins Public Operations in Atlanta

ATL Spoke is in public service, bringing automated transit to Southwest Atlanta’s first-and-last-mile corridor. Four Karsan Autonomous e-JEST vehicles, automated by ADASTEC, are operating daily in Southwest Atlanta, connecting the Lee + White Discovery Hub to the West End MARTA Station as part of the city’s first automated public transit service.

This 12-month deployment brings SAE Level-4 automated transit into a dynamic urban corridor, supporting first-and-last-mile mobility in mixed traffic with pedestrians, cyclists, crosswalks, traffic signals, stop signs, and shared urban spaces.

Together with Beep, Inc., Atlanta Beltline, Karsan Automotive and ADASTEC Corp. demonstrates how automated transit can scale from individual deployments to coordinated fleet operations in real public transportation networks.

Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK Automated by ADASTEC Successfully Operated on Paris BRT Corridor

Delivered in close collaboration with RATPgroup and Karsan Automotive, this deployment represents a significant step toward the implementation of automated public transport systems on dedicated BRT corridors across Europe.

Throughout the operation, ADASTEC’s SAE Level-4 automated driving software platform, https://t.co/CV9NOraDkW, delivered stable and consistent performance on a high-frequency bus line, successfully managing interactions with vehicles, pedestrians, and traffic lights, supported by V2X communication with the infrastructure.

As part of this project on Line 393, serving 14 bus stops along an 8.3-kilometer route, the Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK automated by ADASTEC completed more than 3,000 kilometers of operation with five hours of daily service.

The collaboration brings together MAN’s Lion’s City 12 E bus with ADASTEC’s automated driving software platform and advanced sensor suite, enabling automated operations in real-world public transport environments. The vehicle is planned to operate on a designated line in the city of Munich , demonstrating how automated bus systems can be integrated into active public transport services.

With ongoing testing and validation activities, the project supports preparation for deployment within Munich’s public transport network, marking a step toward integrating automated bus operations into existing transit systems.
