@FCisnotScience & @FCisPsychosis, @AltB56073878, @annephillipssea, @jimtemu - I prefer to stay away from replying on X, but I would suggest all of you stop speculating about FC etc. supporters being psychotic or delusional and instead try to help the communication of millions of nonspeakers.
@_DeniseLombardi Thank you for this pinned post. As an advocate for persons with the most complex disabilities, I find this information extremely important. Also I am the father of a 54 year old son Ben with nonspeaking autism who has a good life with a spelling method. [email protected]
@and_kell You ask "Why don't these critics go after ABA for the things they do?" I have an answer based on my following these matters for over 35 years but I will only tell you by private email; my email is [email protected]
@AlResearch222 @MsgPassingTest @FCisnotScience@DrJerroldCoe@jimtemu Since I last posted on X 65 hrs ago, I find 33 new posts about spellers, all but one negative and 29 in the 1st 28 hrs. Posts based on psychological speculation have become so extremely absurd that I have decided to stop my posts to X until when and if the situation changes.
@and_kell The website seems to be run Janyce Boynton who was a facilitator in Maine for one person Betsy Wheaton almost 35 years ago for a short period & since then she has no known experience observing a live spelling session, only videos.
@sidn1971@EMPIREREPORTNY To Abby's Dad - Thank you for joining the effort on X to reply to opponents of spellers but Alt B blocks me so when you reply there I cannot do so. Based on my half century of experience, I have suggestions how to help more if you contact me by email at [email protected]
@DrJerroldCoe@and_kell Jerry - as I notified you before you sent this post to X mentioning my name - "I have decided to no longer reply directly on X to Jerry Coe." This post is only so I do not lose track of your post.
@and_kell My point is you should have no personal regrets for not knowing sooner. I tried to inform others but my son Ben asked to leave the U.S. when he became an open speller in April 1994 & 4 months later he was in Israel where we joined him in March 1996. So hard to help U.S. [2/2]
@and_kell When your son was born about 1996, the opponents against spellers had successfully suppressed the information by fraudulently claiming the first spelling method brought to the U.S. in 1990 by Douglas Biklen had been "debunked" as a pseudoscience and this fraud is ongoing [1/2]
@and_kell My son Ben was an open speller by 22, in 1994. Your son did not start to try spelling until age 25, about 2021. You were obviously very involved parents so I think it is worthwhile to discuss why you did not try spelling until 2021 with spellers before your son was born. [2/2]
@and_kell In your post yesterday, your phrase about your 30 year old son - "very poor fine motor abilities due to his extreme apraxia" - would also describe my 54 year old son Ben. My son was taught sign in 3 different programs from 5-1/2 to 11-1/2 with little permanent success. [1/2]
@FCisnotScience They never know, because the "fatal flaws in their technique" are only in your imagination viewing videos instead of observing real live persons spelling since your one short live experience with Betsy Wheaton nearly 35 years ago.
@FCisnotScience I question whether it is possible to make a video to show what is really happening with any of the spelling methods and I would insist that you only make a live observation of spelling. Isn't it almost 35 years since you have any experience observing a live spelling session?
@and_kell@DrJerroldCoe Andrea @and_kell -I have decided to no longer reply directly on X to Jerry Coe, although I do not know how to delete him from this reply. As I ended my last reply on X to you on this thread - Contact me by email at [email protected] since you are now publicly active on X.
@and_kell@DrJerroldCoe including persons for over a decade who do not try to help nonspeakers but only criticize - such as Susan Gerbic and Janyce Boynton. My son Ben believes they should be publicly challenged. Contact me by email at [email protected] since you are now publicly active on X.
@and_kell@DrJerroldCoe Andrea @and_kell - Thank you for your public support. Although Jerry Coe only started in March 2025 & "Presume Facilitator Influence" & Alt B also seem to be recent with posts to X (formerly twitter), you should be aware that there are known leading opponents to spellers [1/2]
@FCisnotScience Did you know that Rosemary Crossley only tried Facilitated Communication as a last resort and in her last years when young children were brought up using iPads, she only taught them standard AAC such as Predictable software with great success & no need to go to last resort of FC?
@TNailo4@and_kell@HHSResponse@POTUS In pro-spellers YouTube https://t.co/pCVPLMYKkQ May 14, 2026 hosted by Tony Lyons, Chapter starting at 15:11 Dr. Tony Ebel, Chiropractor, states Birth Trauma may be a cause of autism, such as forceps use in birth of my own son Ben 54 years ago when fewer vaccines were given.
@DrJerroldCoe to anyone, and I made sure the one vulnerable person, the elderly mother in a nursing home, did not have even any temporary harm, because any effort to defend myself might jeopardize the transition of my son Ben and others to their new highly successful private adult program.
