THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT OUR VETERANS
Time is not on the side of these national heroes @Keir_Starmer. You promised to meet them almost six months ago. Thirty have died since Christmas.
Please meet them now before it’s too late

🚨‼️ATOMIC VETERANS ⁉️🚨
Last night, I went to the advanced screening of Our Planet, The People, My Blood - by Daniel Everitt-Lock
The film explores a specific subset of veterans, dubbed ‘Atomic Veterans’ who were stationed on Christmas Island during British and American nuclear bomb testing in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
The veterans, at the time, were not told of any risks to being exposed to radiation and they had no protective gear or clothing.
This has resulted in decades of rare diseases and cancers that have even affected their children and grand children.
There were also routine blood tests done on the vets in the years after the bomb tests. The establishment then attempted to say these blood tests never took place, veterans had to fight to access their own medical records!
This film does an incredible job at shining a light on the forgotten Atomic Veterans, yet another subset of ex service men left behind by the very country they proudly served.
Go and show them some support and stay tuned for the premiere! @atomicblooddoc

With new jaw dropping documentary film, OUR PLANET, THE PEOPLE, MY BLOOD - which looks at the shocking Nuked Blood Scandal - releasing in April 2026 - a film every politician should see -it’s worth remembering that
Defence Secretary @JohnHealey_MP told the nuclear test veterans in opposition
“On behalf of the British Labour Party I’ve said to our veterans your campaign is our campaign…There is no good reason, there is no good moral reason, there is no good military reason for withholding the COMPENSATION other countries have had”
Former Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner told the veterans
“Myself and my Labour colleagues are calling on the Secretary of State for Defence to…liaise with the treasury to set up an appropriate financial COMPENSATION program for veterans and their descendants as America, France, Australia, China, Russia Fiji and the Isle of Man have done”
Defence Minister @LukePollard said
“We need to see not only the recognition for our nuclear veterans but also the COMPENSATION that they deserve”
He said the Conservative Government’s failure to give them COMPENSATION was “really dumb”
Despite expressing his "gratitude" to the veterans in opposition, after becoming PM, @Keir_Starmer has made no public comment on the nuclear blood test programme and eighteen months since Labour came to power, there is no compensation scheme, no recognition beyond a commemorative medal which was authorised by the Tories and a "thorough" review of the archives promised to Parliament by Mr Healey has been given no budget with which to find answers.
Our nuclear test veterans- to whom this country owes a huge debt of honour and gratitude, most of whom are now in their eighties and with chronic ill health - are still waiting for the Prime Minister to meet with them & honour the commitment which his party to them in opposition.
