📈 Global Semiconductor Sales Reach $792 Billion in 2025
Global semiconductor industry sales climbed to a record $792 billion in 2025, reflecting strong demand for advanced chips across computing, artificial intelligence, and electronics.
By region, semiconductor sales were distributed as follows:
· Americas (primarily the United States): $255 billion
· Rest of Asia: $225 billion
· China: $213 billion
· Europe: $54 billion
· Japan: $45 billion
Historically, the United States dominated the global semiconductor industry, accounting for roughly 60% of worldwide sales in the early 1980s. By the 2010s, however, its share had declined to around 20%, while Asia’s share surged from about 10% to nearly 70%, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association.
More recently, the regional balance has shifted again. The Americas’ share of global semiconductor sales increased from 22.0% in 2018 to 32.2% in 2025, while China’s share declined from about 35% during 2019–2021 to 26.9% in 2025, reflecting evolving supply chains and geopolitical dynamics in the chip industry.
