Palantir CEO Alex Karp says Peter Thiel is so misunderstood in Europe that Germany effectively lost their most successful investor:
"I think the treatment of Peter is atrocious."
"I think the question historically one would have asked in Germany is: can we afford this? Can we afford not to learn from this person?"
"The German tech scene should be #2 in the world by any historical standard. Honestly, the German tech scene was the #1 in the world, so #2 is already, like, maybe shouldn't be the aspiration."
"It's on no one's list."
" The largest company in Germany by market cap, I think, is Siemens, and Palantir is significantly larger, even where we're obviously undervalued currently."
"I've known Peter Since we were poor students at Stanford. We had conversations as poor students fighting about intellectual things. He was always heterodox right. I was always heterodox left. I don't think much has changed. He's still heterodox right, meaning he's very frustrating to classic Republicans."
"He's never been a neocon. He actually does not really believe in classic Republican economic theory. He was the first person to flag and will always flag—you tend to have people on the right basically explaining all problems as the result of capitalism not being driven far enough."
" That's just not Peter's view."
"He's not a simplistic or a caricature thinker on the right. And he's definitely not the caricature that the left wants to present."
"But what's fascinating to me is—why is it so important to spend so much time blocking Peter from the German market?"
"It's so obviously thin what they're saying about him, what they say about Palantir, so obviously doesn't make sense on the merits. You only need 10 minutes, 5 minutes on Google to see this isn't true."
Exciting day for NVIDIA and @huggingface.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. They allow every developer, startup, university, industry and country to build with, customize and benefit from AI.
Thank you @ClementDelangue for coming to me.
NVIDIA is going to be a great home for Hugging Face, its community and the future of open models. 🤗

GPT-6 Astra is here.
We hope it will begin to enable a new generation of entrepreneurship, scientific discovery, and building.
We believe it is the best model in the world for computer use, professional work, science, coding, cybersecurity, and more.
It took us some extra time to ensure that we could meet the safety and alignment standards required for this capability level, but we think you’ll find it worth the wait.
It scores 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4, 99.9% on ARC-AGI 3, and 100% on ExploitBench.
Game theory advice:
Never ask yourself why a person behaves the way they do. That's a broad question, and you'll find nothing. Instead, find a clear structural reason: an incentive. Ask: "What outcome is being rewarded?" Is it the pursuit of social status, a monetary gain, or maybe an emotional desire? You're only ever as intelligent as the questions you seek to answer.
Underrated life advice:
Stop chasing more options. It’s literally what makes you sterile. With every option you add, you also add comfort. The anxiety you feel when you have no moves left is what helps you overcome obstacles to success. That’s because moving forward feels existentially important when you cannot afford to unwind. Yet, you still seek to kill what propels you forward.
Most of your mistakes aren't even brutal blunders. They're just small oversights. Annoyances that escalate into a hurricane of troubles. So, to tackle this once and for all, I strongly urge you to write down what you are about to do. It's a simple neurological trick: once you externalize the thought, you can critique it, and you see its flaws. The brain just doesn't like to argue internally against itself. Pen and paper bring forth the best decisions.
Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!
