Uh, no, Mr. Alcoholic. I’m not indulging in your insane nonsense.
You must be ill then. Or… maybe you’re just mentally unstable and this is your mental breakdown.
"You're right. But I also got all the grading done that I needed. And I am taking a well-earned break for just a bit of a night cap. Not like I am doing tequila shots in a club or anything."
He had to think. Some of them were just absolutely terrible.
"I have to say, the one about moon rock tasting better than Earth Rock cause it's meteor."
"Don't make my brain hurt." He ran a hand through his hair.
"What about those who say half past eight? Like I have the time to figure that out."
Get it?
"I'm beginning to wonder what the other professors have been teaching you lot."
He actually laughed softly at her joke. It definitely caught him off guard.
He smiled softly. She really wasn't a bad kid. Sure, he liked to pick, but she did as well. He was beginning to have a soft spot for her, something that was frowned upon by the other Aurors.
He didn't care.
So he sat quietly, eyes going to the fireplace in front of them.
"It was one drink. I don't go down to the pub for numerous drinks or anything. This is my first one in 6 months or so."
He knew not to press. She would tell him in due time, or not. It was entirely up to her.
He nodded, listening to her.
"You know, I'm always here if you need to talk about anything. Even plants. I know I may seem like a grumpy old man, but I promise I'm not."
