“Everyone matters, and everyone matters absolutely.”
Before becoming a diplomat, Australia’s Ambassador to @UNESCO was a teacher.
This #WorldTeachersDay, she reflects on what the classroom taught her: to listen, embrace diversity and make sure every voice is heard.
Because great teachers make us feel seen and inspire a lifelong passion for learning.

Together with other Heads of Mission in Kyiv we take note with concern of the Russian MFA's threat against diplomats and foreign citizens in Ukraine.
Russia is bound by the Vienna Convention and international humanitarian law.
We stay in Kyiv.

The Marquesas Islands were recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, home to dramatic landscapes, rich cultural traditions and enduring Pacific connections. Hear from Australia’s Consul-General to French Polynesia on what makes them so remarkable.
🇦🇺 proudly stepping up to bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2029-2030: committed to listening with respect, partnering as equals, and protecting what matters most. 🕊️🇺🇳🌐
In his National Statement to the United Nations, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Australia will listen with respect, partner as equals, and protect what matters most, should our bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council be successful.
I am proud to join the Presidents of Australia, France, Kenya and Spain in advancing the Coalition for Children’s Rights and Protection in the Age of AI.

Today I joined Pacific Islands Forum Leaders and UN Secretary-General António Guterres in New York as we work to elevate Pacific voices and priorities. In an uncertain world, Pacific regionalism helps shape a peaceful, stable and prosperous region, where sovereignty is respected.
Pleased to meet with World Jewish Congress President @lauder_ronald during #UNGA.
I expressed my appreciation for the @WorldJewishCong’s longstanding partnership with @UNESCO in the fight against antisemitism and in preserving the memory of the Holocaust.
We discussed how education can help counter antisemitism, Holocaust denial and distortion, and strengthen understanding across generations.

Proud of what Australia and Ukraine have built together through the Bilateral Security Agreement: support through harsh winters, support for Ukraine's defence, and a shared belief in freedom.
Слава Україні! 🇦🇺🇺🇦

Proud to partner with @UNOCHA in delivering life-saving support where it’s needed most.
Australia remains committed to principled humanitarian action and standing with vulnerable communities worldwide.
Democracy depends on people’s right to access information, speak freely and participate.
@UNESCO works to defend #FreedomOfExpression and the #SafetyOfJournalists, because when journalists are silenced or threatened, societies lose vital voices.
