@htormey@kleffew94@sadbryce@benthompson@AxiomExchange There’s a massive, global, dev / prosumer base that wants to pay with crypto.
You would be shocked how much volume OpenRouter does on crypto rails as % of their revenue. SHOCKED
Not the reason for their success. But it’s one aspect
Yeah, x402 is a pretty new project. x402 Foundation only launched in July 2026, and whitepaper is about a year-ish old.
Very happy with growth so far, and it’s not like this is a baked/finished thing. We are learning and growing every week.
Why do you work at @phantom though if you think credit cards are the future, and that crypto doesn’t solve any problems?
Shouldn’t you go work somewhere else more traditional?
The Omacom Foundation has raised another half a million dollars! Thanks so much to @OpenRouter, @PayWithFour, and 500 awesome individual patrons 🙏
That brings our total in pledges and donations to approximately $15.5 million.

Imagine being bearish bluetooth in 1999 because Intel, IBM, and Toshiba were pushing it.
Horrible bet!! Everything has bluetooth (printers, cameras, monitors, mice, even sewing machines)
Agents and money move like water. Path of least resistance, which is x402 @CoinbaseDev
One of the reasons I'm bearish is that the bulk of the agentic micropayments narrative is being pushed by innovation departments in large, established companies.
Not startups, not vcs. There's little to no organic traction.
The agent resy thing is so overblown:
1. Doordash/Uber Eats are killing regular restaurants
2. Food quality has gotten worse while prices up
3. Some of the best places don't take reservations
4. Time savings is marginal
I'm a foodie, and into agents but this is dumb
agents trying to book things with finite supply is going to be hilariously chaotic.
we’re about to introduce software level race conditions into real life. two thousand agents refreshing the same dinner reservation, concert ticket, apartment, flight upgrade, etc.
distributed systems problems except now the lock is a table for two at 8pm in the west village.
This is a great reason to integrate stablecoin payments from @CoinbaseBiz
Also @thdxr we already power @OpenRouter and @AskVenice
No stolen cards, no charebacks, no declines. More revenue less overhead
- tokens are very in demand and very expensive
- they're fungible, so if you have a source you can easily resell them with your own endpoint
so people try to steal tokens using the boring old methods of stolen credit cards, chargebacks, etc
and then there's this

This is absolutely wild!
I wired my Grok Bot personal assistant agent to https://t.co/BisxGFk2e8, and had it call a bunch of local stores looking for a specific product in stock.
It calls, has a conversation to get the info it needs, then sends me a full transcript of the resulting conversation, and lets me know whether they have the product available.
I even had it call me so I could test what the call sounds and interactions sound like, and it was ridiculously good. We chatted about the test and I had it role play with me, then let it go. Got a full transcript after the fact.
We are living in the future, people!!
@DavidPawlan@jacobeverly@NousResearch This is the only consumer that matters! You don’t have to be technical to buy groceries or drink water.
Agents need to be that simple and 0.0001% of users can be technical with advanced setups
On avg businesses who integrate the Checkouts API from @CoinbaseBiz see 10% revenue uplift.
Naturally, stablecoins mitigate chargebacks and declines.
More money, less overhead, more time shipping.
It's a 1 day integration and a no brainer.

I literally would never use this for travel. I want to “think about my trip”
When am I planning this? Which airline do I have the most points with? What about my cc travel partner situation? What about planning location of hotel?
I don’t want this as a single prompt then pay
the main use case i'm seeing over and over for Instinct is travel
interesting to see how travel is the domino of this behavior change
there's just so much more out there though
You don’t need a complicated setup to accept payments from agents.
All you need is @CoinbaseBiz
1. USDC rewards paid weekly 3.35%
2. Automate deposits to bank
3. No chargebacks or declines
4. No stolen cards being used
It’s free to apply and an obvious decision 🤖💰
