@GavinSBaker@arakharazian If all these heavy frontier models and R&D is using up 95% of GPU compute today then moving to smaller more efficient open weight models could definitely hurt the infra story. It means the high amount of compute is not giving the return anymore and that is negative for infra.
@GavinSBaker@arakharazian What is surprising is their ratio of R&D compute to inference compute has stayed pretty stable for 2 years. I would have expected would have been a bigger chunk by now.
@GaryMarcus It's all about the money. In many ways we need a bad bear market to restore our sanity. As long as the average investor keeps making money they think these nuts are geniuses
@MikeZaccardi@SoberLook That original series is really weird that it shows less employment than 2000, that cannot be possible. We have added close to 2M H1b workers in last 25 years, where are they all working then.
@Rory_Johnston They are probably running out of missiles and could he preserving them for few weeks before the election. But longer term they do seem to be losing control.
@StockSavvyShay The supply constraint is actually helping Nvidia with the crazy high pricing. If supply constraints evaporate, it will see much more competition from other companies. Right now Nvidia is locking up the tight supply.
@Bilalinvest@SamanthaLaDuc Price/sales captures all the international sales and even that is very stretched and at peaks. But the higher profit margins may justify higher P/S. If you think there is some mean reversion in margins then that could be bearish.
@adamjohnsonCHI Only thing I would say that it can't be called Biden/Harris policy. The VP has close to 0 power, they are really a spokesperson for the President. She could have resigned, but that's a standard almost no elected politician lives up to.
