@kauaemua Keeping a capitalist system running looks different in the impacts on physical medicine vs psychiatric. The idea that everything is just social is reductive and also unscientific, but so is accepting the current psuedoscience that capital produces

@kauaemua Psychological conditions generally lend themselves more towards being used by capital to medicalize etc.. Additionally most current Psychiatric science has no identified mechanism or scientific testing. Not bc it's impossible but bc the purpose of capitalist psychiatry is control

@kauaemua By any metric I would fall into the group you're describing. I'm all for a real understanding but the fact is that would require a rejection and deep criticism of the entire industry. We don't have a basis for that at least not in the US

The way I see it there are 3 important initial components for unions to build solidarity with the immigrant struggle: build ties with local immigrant orgs, train members to stand up to ICE, educate membership

Important to make resolutions concrete and specific like this
