TFTC 772 w/ Average Gary: "All wars are bankers' wars. What I was told we were doing was never the real motive. There's a monetary incentive to keep the machine going, they don't get paid if there's no war."
We discuss:
⚡ Bankers' wars
⚡ Broken money
⚡ Peaceful exit
Many of us advocate(d) for covenants chiefly because they are the only way to eventually create multi-sig-level security but with human-level usability
If you have bitcoin residing under a single key that was generated on a Coldcard Mk3 between 2021-2023, and you
- did not incorporate dice rolls
- do not use a passphrase
- do not use multi-sig
I would advise moving funds as soon as possible.
This is confirmed, and may also affect mk2/mk4.
I'm updating my advice: if you have coins living under a single key generated by a Coinkite (Coldcard, Q) device with no passphrase, no dice rolls that you bought during or after 2021, I would move funds immediately.
Not a drill.
Have verified that the dice roll path is safe, provided you incorporated enough dice rolls.
If you are affected but have a passphrase, your coins are now only as safe as your passphrase.
developing situation, but if you are currently using coldcard move your funds out of an abundance of caution
bugs have been found and exploited using ai
if you used dice rolls to generate your seed, you should be fine
if you use a passphrase, you should be fine
if you use multisig, you should be fine
would still move funds out of an abundance of caution
this sucks, coinkite team should release more info soon
