@52frequency Reading is a great way to learn tbh. what you read influences your writing skills as it gives you a base for a style you can develop. Writers block is tricky but thou shalt vanquish it swiftly
@atsuzuke I started reading this when I was feeling fucked up, it is quite harmful, it sucks to see how people can be so ignorant and ableist towards this

@lcb676@secondscenario DOTRC greatly enriches the world building of Hongyuan especially when it comes to understanding the implicit customs and traditions, as well as getting a better idea of Hong Lu’s character. The book is a very fun and fascinating read, albeit quite long, but I def recommend it!!
@lcb676@secondscenario Another thing is how this perfectly reflects how things functioned back in the Qing dynasty where Dream of the Red chamber takes place. The book amazingly testifies of the disdain the upper class held for « outsiders » that are not rich/influential where
@lcb676@secondscenario The fact that the affluent prefer to marry within their family to « keep the blood pure » tells a lot about their priorities. Family members are seen as tools to more power whereas the only way to not be ruled is to be the one to rule.
@astrallescent Proxies are an option. But you have to pay a little more expensive than the og prices. However, you do get authentic merch and sometimes people sell stuff for super cheap on mercari so the shipping cancels it out. I understand the feeling though it’s a pain.
@vergiliustwt Another thing is how hoyo is Chinese and hardly cares about anything other than the Chinese player base. We’ve seen that hoyo quickly reacts when the Chinese speak out. Finally the community is too fragmented as many issues such as racism/fatphobia/ptw do not concern everyone.
@vergiliustwt True… but the problem with genshin is that it’s much harder to target them as they are a big company compared to indie creators that have less protection. It’s easier to target a few individual people than a big company.
