Hey everyone, I'm Miyata, the composer.

Today I'd like to talk about the song from the Palamute’s Hatching Ceremony.

This song is actually sung in Monster Hunter language, but originally, it carries the following meaning:

In the long slumber
Does the sound of the heart grow loud?
Sound that heralds the fullness of time
That is, the beating of the heart
The time is full
The time is full
Come forth, roar, come forth

It begins with Kol’s solo part, but later the villagers join in. Many of the villagers are actually sung by members of the production and sound staff too!

We recorded it whilst adjusting the distance to match the sense of scale of the villagers in the footage.

As for the atmosphere of the song, I imagined it as a village song passed down through the generations, so I composed the melody with a sense of antiquity in mind.

I feel like I can comfortably say (without bias) that is is the greatest long form “superhero” story ever told 🙂‍↕️
