@Nepallitfest I would pay so much to see Dr. Shashi Tharoor VS Dr. Swarnim Wagle in an english speaking competition. Winner gets 50% off on their next purchase of the Oxford thesaurus.
@gleamlang It really irks me that I have to use a third party library to read a file... I know why I have to do it, and it technically makes sense. But it's irksome nonetheless.
Because @gleamlang has two backend - Erlang and JS, 3rd party wrappers are used for the simplest tasks. e.g. simplifile for r/w files.
I hope this does not lead to a micro-dependencies hell like on npm
Thought inspired by this code snippet from the simplifile library:
Trying out Gleam. Am I an idiot or is this actually how I am supposed to write a simple "file exists" logic in @gleamlang?
I suppose it's done this way to support both Erlang and JS backends?
Nepal Telecom Launches 4G Service in Sinja Valley, Jumla
The historic Sinja Valley, regarded as the birthplace of the Khas language, is now connected to 4G internet! Nepal Telecom has brought 4G service into operation from Friday in the Guthijyula Bazaar area of Kanakasundari Rural Municipality by installing a new tower.
Since the national grid has not reached the area, the tower runs entirely on solar batteries a great example of sustainable technology powering connectivity in remote regions.

And they also changed the code of conduct for their fork of git.
I may not support their stance on rust or renaming the default branch, but I support their artistic right to modify and share libre software as they see fit.

Git. Without the Rust. Awesome.
Two days ago, the Git team released Git 2.55. A key "feature" of that new release being the incremental, forced adoption of the Rust programming language and toolchain for building Git.
Today, the "Libre-WD40" project (because WD40 removes rust), has released Git 2.55.0... "WD-40 flavor".
With two simple changes:
- Rust removed.
- Default branch changed to "master".
This is *exactly* how Open Source is supposed to work.
The developer of a project does something that some people don't want, so another developer forks it and gets rid of the problem.

National Cyber Security Centre has been granted free access to breach monitoring for government domains through Have I Been Pwned, becoming the 47th government worldwide to join the service. A constructive step toward strengthening cybersecurity monitoring and protecting public digital assets.
Credit to @troyhunt and the @haveibeenpwned team for continuing to make this service freely available to governments.
