It is encouraging that political leaders are now calling this out for what it is and saying plainly that Jacob Zuma is inciting violence. But it must also be said that Zuma is not merely inciting hostility against undocumented immigrants.
He is inciting hostility against Africans who are living in South Africa legally, who are properly documented, and who are conducting their lives within the law.

It is shameful that a former president would exploit such dangerous sentiments simply to win votes and settle political scores with the ANC and President Cyril Ramaphosa.
He knows that many citizens may not fully appreciate the consequences of this kind of rhetoric, and he is cynically taking advantage of that.

It is also worth remembering that it was Jacob Zuma who issued hundreds of thousands of permits to foreign nationals. It is therefore absurd to portray him as an anti-immigration crusader. This is not about principle; it is about political opportunism.

Throughout his political career, Zuma has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to ride whatever wave he believes will deliver short-term political gain, regardless of the long-term damage to society.

Today, that means exploiting fear, resentment, and division for electoral advantage. Sadly, many people will fall for this cynical strategy without recognising that they are being manipulated.

Imagine this; a black South African enthusiastically speaking to a white woman while referring to fellow black Africans as “kwerekweres”, a deeply derogatory slur. It is a tragic illustration of how prejudice can become so deeply internalised that people end up demeaning those who look like them and share their history.

Even more disturbing is that this individual is helping to lead xenophobic mobilisation in Durban, encouraging hostility towards fellow Africans. Instead of promoting the rule of law or calling for proper immigration enforcement, he chooses to dehumanise people through insults and division.

The saddest part is that thousands of people look up to and follow figures like this. History has shown that when leaders normalise dehumanising language, it becomes much easier to justify discrimination and violence.

The toxic voice in the room is often the one that has forgotten its own humanity. A people taught to despise one another will never be free. When you dehumanise fellow Africans for applause, you have already lost far more than your dignity. History will not only remember who shouted “kwerekwere”, it will remember who stood against hatred.

Hello Crime Watch! I am writing to report and complain about the way people are being treated at Central Vehicle Registry (CVR), 25 Robson Manyika Road, Harare.

We wanted to make payments for our Drivers licence-disc application or replacement at the Accounts counter. Everytime we go there the Teller will be there but not receipting any payments. When asked they claim they are occupied with other duties. People will wait and be told to come back at 2pm but nothing happens.

This is getting out of hand. If these women feel they nolonger want to do the job, they can simply leave and give others who are unemployed in Zimbabwe the chance to deliver impeccable customer services.

New footage shows the moment a United Airlines plane collided with a light pole and a truck while landing at Newark Liberty International Airport.

The Boeing 767 was traveling at about 160 mph when it made contact.

Air traffic controllers say there was a hole in the side of the plane and damage to the tire following the incident.
