I found this video super helpful for learning the Citric Acid cycle. It does a very good job explaining each step of the cycle as well as showing the reactions and what is happening on a molecular level. https://t.co/zRnfgmB34F #hunterbiochemistry
I also enjoyed the self-paced aspect of the class, and found doing @peerwise weekly helpful in term of having to find a question yourself and practicing by answering others questions, its a good way to review the materials #hunterbiochemistry
#hunterbiochemistry I enjoyed taking this online biochemistry course and it helped me to learn the most difficult concepts at my own time and pace. Also, the extra resources provided and PeerWise questions, helped me to connect the ideas and to better understand the topics.
This course has been fulfilling in the way that it has closed a lot of gaps in knowledge between previous chemistry and biology courses. I was most surprised by how well this class flowed, I thought the online format would be more challenging than it was #hunterbiochemistry
I found Biochemistry to be easier that what I was expecting, as most concepts are ones we already knew but we went over into more details about what happens in the cell level in BioChem #hunterbiochemistry
I agree on the online part making it challenging, but I felt like the weekly quizzes and assignments format did help keep you up to date with the materials #hunterbiochemistry
The correct answer is complication. The 3 stages of catabolism are Digestion, Simplification, and Common Pathway. Digestion include the hydrolysis of macromolecules to monomers, Simplification is the formation of Acetyl-Coenzyme, then the Common Pathway which is the Krebs cycle
The citric acid cycle is one of the concepts that we talked about a lot, in general biology and human anatomy class. But learning about it in Biochemistry helped give a more detailed description of how it works. #hunterbiochemistry
CrashCourse is a nice way to explain the concepts we are learning in class, if you feel confused about a concept, it is a quick to look at before looking at the class contents. #hunterbiochemistry

@catie_unhm Thanks for sharing, that's helpful she is easy to understand. Will probably benfit people who are study for the MCAT too #hunterbiochemistry
There are many articles about metabolism and how it helps with cancer, this article shows how metabolism of glucose and amino acid can help with pancreatic cancer in particular #hunterbiochemistry

I took chemistry and organic chemistry classes, but I also have the idea that I will never end up using what I learned, so I had a #lightbulbmoment when I realized how we are using those reactions that we learned to learn about human processes #hunterbiochemistry
I chose to follow @MicroGEMbio who are working with SARS-CoV-2 saliva tests, and seems to be expanding their manufacturing to New Hampshire. #hunterbiochemistry
