According to an @Oxfam report, in 2019, the super-rich 1% were responsible for 16% of global carbon emissions, which is the same as the emissions of the poorest 66% of humanity (5 billion people). We need economic and social policies that support fair, just and equal transformation, where we fight both inequality and the climate crisis. We urgently need to accelerate climate action and call on the high emitters to do more to lower emissions and contribute the finances required for an equal, fairer and greener world.
