If there’s one story I’ve wanted to know, one story I’ve admired from far, it’s the story of Mrs Gandhi and her great love that shaped India!
It holds one of the great love stories of our time set against the birth of a nation, carried by a woman who loved as a teenager and paid for it in grit, sacrifice, and years of proving her own belonging.
I see my mother in every page I haven’t read yet. Young, widowed by tragedy, raising children while the country asked if her daughter belonged — and answering, every time, with more love, not less.

November 2026
It was around 2009, RG was in Thiruvananthapuram, looking at crowd, he got upto the top of the van to wave for the crowd. My dad who was watching this in TV started screaming asking him to get down, my dad isn't a Congressman.
When I asked what happened, he replied saying that the family has a knife hanging on their head 24/7 and yet they choose to serve this country, that's when I understood the impact Rajiv Gandhi's assassination has on common people. After looking at my dad's reaction, the respect and love he had towards the family despite not being associated with the party in anyway, I had already made up my mind that Congress will be my party.
I respect the concern in your post. When someone like Wangchuk ji, known for real educational innovation, goes on hunger strike against irregularities destroying futures of lakhs of children and parents, it demands attention. His health deteriorating is worrying for all of us who care about justice. Congress stands with him and every citizen fighting these issues — we care about his cause, Ladakh’s rights, and fixing education for our youth.
But let’s be fair and complete in our view. It’s not accurate to say Congress ignored this. Not even once has Congress or any leader from our party blamed these youths or Sonam Wangchuk ji, or questioned why they are not supporting NSUI and IYC protests. Instead, we have been fighting alongside on the same issues.
Our NSUI and Youth Congress workers have been on the streets across India against paper leaks and exam scams. They faced brutal water cannons, lathi charges, and serious injuries.
In Haryana’s Kurukshetra, MP Deepender Singh Hooda @DeependerSHooda led from the front. In Madhya Pradesh, Jeetu Patwari @jitupatwari and countless senior leaders and cadre were badly hurt. Similar action in Rajasthan and other states. Many of our young protesters were beaten while demanding accountability, yet much of it was ignored by media and platforms.
We didn’t stop there. Rahul Gandhi launched #ChhatronKiGunj — a big nationwide campaign in 28 cities with massive student populations. Direct outreach, meetings, and protests pushing for clean exams, jobs, and real reforms. This is Congress walking with the youth every step.
Rahul Gandhi’s way of standing with people is remembered on the streets, even if media sometimes forgets. Despite losing his father and grandmother to violence, he walked over 4000 km in Bharat Jodo Yatra knowing the threats to his life. He reaches grieving families quietly:
• Deep interactions with NEET-affected students in Kota and follow-ups on their pain.
• Met families of students hit by the system.
• Mandsaur visit to console families of farmers killed in firing — rode bikes, walked fields, defied barriers. @MNatarajanINC
• Bhatta Parsaul support for farmers against land grab — got arrested but stood firm.
• Met Mohammad Deepak (the brave gym trainer who defended a Muslim shopkeeper as “Mohammad Deepak”), assured full support, spoke to his family, and promised to visit his gym.
• Also connected with the distressed NEET student’s family at home.
• Plus Wayanad landslides (consoled like his own loss), Hathras stampede, Poonch shelling (door-to-door), Indore water tragedy (financial help), Gorakhpur, Muzaffarnagar, Unnao, Sambhal, lynching cases and many more.
This is not callousness or insecurity. This is consistent solidarity without turning grief into spectacle. Congress is not @BJP4India , nor selective like @AamAadmiParty in elections (recall Bilkis Bano in Gujarat). We stand for everyone’s rights.
The youth of India — many voting for the first time in 2029 — need unity, not division between platforms. We welcome all genuine voices. Let’s amplify every struggle: @nsui /@IYC sacrifices, Chhatron Ki Gunj demands, and Sonam Wangchuk ji’s fast.
People on the streets remember who truly stands with them.
Congress is with the youngsters on every demand — paper leaks, jobs, education. No blame, only support.
Jai Bhim. Jai Hind. Together the students’ voice will echo loud for real change.

It is convenient to become an Aditya Dhar, Sudipto Sen or Vivek Agnihotri in a land where sympathy is a crime, empathy an offence and fraternity condemned.
It is equally difficult to remain a Diljit Dosanjh or Imtiyaz Ali and sing a ballad of peace. 🎶
Kudos to both. ✨ 🩵
There is so much recent negativity about @airindia that I want to put this out.
I have taken 3 flights on @airindia in the last three days.
On Wednesday:Rome to Del
On Thursday: Del to Bom
On Friday: Bom to Del
In every single case the flight was on time. The inflight service was warm & efficient. Luggage came relatively quickly (quickest in Del)
The check in was entirely painless
I don’t think frequent travellers care as much as others about airline food but if you think that’s important then I had a very good dinner on Rome to Del.
On the international sector I
flew one of the older Dreamliners & I am not one of those aeroplane nerds but I thought
it was very comfortable.
It’s second nature for many
of us to bitch about @airindia but it’s one of only two international airlines I
fly regularly. The other is @emirates which admittedly is far better ( & far more expensive) but it is the best airline in the world so it’s better than every other carrier anyway.
The Tatas need to hold their nerve. There is a lot that is good about @airindia that rarely gets acknowledged
@TataCompanies
Hey @IOBIndia does it cost ₹177/- per page to print an m-passbook page if it's not done in the home branch of the account holder when the entire statement can be accessed for free online? If yes, please tell why, and if no, kindly look into what's going on at Khar (W) branch.
I love her. Of all the things that she did, what impressed me the most was when she, as CM, took charge of the Games village by moving her stay into an unfinished, work-in-progress village to directly supervise the work. Her commitment and courage is what is lacking in many leaders today. Today's leaders would manage the press rather than manage the work that needs to be done.
It is deeply unfortunate that the Prime Minister chose to mislead the nation rather than address it honestly.
Let me put this on record. Trinamool Congress has always championed higher political representation for women. We have the highest proportion of female elected representatives in both Parliament and the State Legislature. In the Lok Sabha, 37.9% of our elected members are women. In the Rajya Sabha, we have nominated 46% women members. The question of opposing Women's Reservation does not arise and never has.
What we are fundamentally opposed to is the Delimitation exercise that the Modi Government was plotting to push through by using women as a shield for its vested political agenda. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the altering of Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution, the division of this nation and the usurpation of power through gerrymandering, by redrawing political contours to hand greater representation to BJP-ruled states at the expense of others. This is an assault on federal democracy. And we will not watch it happen in silence.
If this government was genuinely serious about this noble cause, why did it wait nearly three years after the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill on September 28, 2023? Why rush it through when several states are in election? And why couple it with Delimitation? Trinamool Congress has stood for women for decades. We will continue to. But we will not be lectured on a subject that the ruling dispensation neither understands nor respects.
And Mr. Prime Minister, the next time you address the nation, have the courage to do so from the Floor of Parliament, where you are subject to scrutiny, challenge and accountability. What you did yesterday was cowardly, hypocritical and fork-tongued. You can feel power slipping through your fingers. And you are prepared to go to any extent to hold on for just a little while longer.
That is all this was.
yes aditya, it's very rude of Kareena, one of the most prominent faces of Bollywood, and one of the highest paid actresses in India, to not stand in a queue with economy class passengers, very rude...
The West Bengal that you and your parents grew up in was ruled by the Communists for 34 years before 2011, and before them, the Congress. What's your point? @TheRupali
Which pre-TMC West-Bengal must be reclaimed?
Mumbai, Maharashtra: On West Bengal Assembly Elections, actress Rupali Ganguly says, "I pray to Goddess Durga every day, and I sincerely pray that the BJP comes to power there. I have seen my family’s situation, and I feel that under the TMC rule, many people in Bengal have faced fear and difficulties..."
To the Principal, staff and students of Miranda College, Delhi University, you need to respect the Chief Guest you invite for your events. I was there for a no show! I have posted the videos and pix here so that you learn that tardiness equals to disrespect. No staff and 4-5 students. Flow chart & evidence posted
hi, were you raised to be this casteist, classist, and have the worst take ever as a child, or is it just how you are as a person and suddenly it's everybody's problem?
