Been faffing about with modding Stardew Valley and created this vertically-challenged guy. I'm kinda happy with how he's turned out.
Now to just give him an actual personality...
@jasonthinks I still remember the feeling of when total strangers played something I made. They could've said the worst things about it, it wouldn't have mattered. I was just overjoyed by the fact that people actually played something I made.
@jasonthinks When I say "support the devs" I'm thinking support the people who made the thing by like, idk, buying and enjoying the thing they made? Yeah, money is nice and all, but I think creators appreciate others enjoying their work.
Having gotten back into #Terraria recently, I have to say, some QoL feature that I kind of want is a way to make pets/minions/sentries/etc. invisible, while still doing their job. Mainly so I can actually see while building, but also be defended.
Maybe a bit harsh, but something NEEDS to be done about her. She isn't just typical TM-busted, she holds the entire game hostage because NOTHING gets through her bubble which she has 100% uptime. She is an immovable object and no unstoppable force can compete.
@NotTheRocketman@jesawyer This misses the point that it doesn't matter in the slightest what we decide, the publisher still decides to market the game early. That's the point I'm making. This has nothing to do with customers, it's all on publishers.
@BrunoPatatas@jesawyer The issue is you don't start spending attention on-release, you start spending on-announcement. That's why they announce it early in the first place, to generate attention. People want an idea before a game comes out whether their attention is being wasted or not.
@BrunoPatatas@jesawyer I should've clarified, I was agreeing with you. Movies are perhaps the closest comparison, but the comparison falls short when it comes to things like pre-orders and attention demands.
@BrunoPatatas@jesawyer There's also the fact that most video games these days demand more of your attention than a standard movie. People want to know if it's attention well-spent, on top of the money as well.
I guess what I'm saying is, this is a unique industry issue because the industry is unique.
@BrunoPatatas@jesawyer And they release trailers which we speculate on, they get feedback from, and some either fix their movies or release them as-is. This comparison doesn't really work either because you can't exactly pre-order a movie months, if not years in advance, like you can most games.
@jesawyer How often does Apple announce the next iPhone and it DOESN'T come out? How often do they announce it 2+ years before release? How early can you preorder one before it even tangibly exists?
I know for logistical reasons why Destiny convos can't use our actual name, but it's still funny hearing Eido and Spider talk shit about us mispronouncing Mithrax's name while they still just call us Guardian. π
@JenniferDowding@eric_seufert It very well may. My thought of that line was that ads like sponsorships from the video creator themselves are OK, but not the upfront ads YouTube does automatically. This wording does seem to allow for ads AFTER a video though.
But again, I doubt it'll be implemented this way.
@ALWyvern I tried to get back into it, deleting my old save from a few years back. Instant regret. After 30 minutes got so bored I shut it down and uninstalled.
Game is fun enough, but the intro feels like a hurdle you have to overcome which, artistic or not, I don't think it should be.
