The McCain coalition is why you have Gov Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, Attorney General Kris Mayes, and Senators Kelly and Gallego. But keep doing you, boo
The McCain coalition is not all that capable of winning elections in Arizona anymore so I'm not quite sure why people are clinging to this narrative
Trump won the state by almost 6 points. Adjusting for demographic change since 2008, McCain would have underperformed him.
It looks like Teri Ann Hourihan is going to defeat Hugh Lytle in an upset for the No Labels AZ governor nom. Lytle was self funding with millions in his war chest, and I think the GOP was hoping he’d play spoiler.
@TeeJay1428@StealthPolling this is a primary
and it’s a drop in the bucket because hundreds of thousands have already voted versus this much smaller pool
Three things I’m watching in Arizona tonight:
1st: Can national Democrats push Galan-Woods across the finish line? Does the late money for Jay Feely clear his way in the GOP side?
4th: Stanton’s margin/How deep is Dem anti-incumbent backlash?
5th: Do sex scandals still matter?
@rep_favorite Which do you consider the closest races? We only differ on Shah - I think it’s Woods - and Yee over Horne.
Despite the overwhelming cash advantage I don’t think Norton is going to destroy Haley—think it might be close.
@MathewKheyfets@StealthPolling It is in line with recent years. Here’s Maricopa breakdown for most recent primary in 24. Dems were 281k early, 16k eday. GOP 377k early, 56k eday. Rs outpaced Ds by almost 4x on eday
“Most vulnerable Democratic incumbent governor” in a swing state is doing a lot of heavy lifting when it’s just her and Josh Shapiro running for reelection in swing states. LOL
BREAKING: The mainstream media now admits Katie Hobbs is the most vulnerable Democratic governor in America.
Why?
Because her record is indefensible.
So rather than defend 541 vetoes, rising costs, scandals, and a governor who hides from debates, her media allies are desperately trying to make 2026 about 2020.
They want to relitigate the past because Katie Hobbs cannot survive a referendum on her own record.
I've been observing, writing, and working in Arizona politics for 35 years. The very idea that a Republican operative would be using a May poll to BRAG in July about possibly being within the margin of error in the Governor's race boggles the mind.

Hunter Biden: “I believe the biggest problem in America is not the oligarchy, it’s the closetocracy. Everybody knows there is this closeted gay mafia, largely Republican, that exists in DC. The only reason that is relevant is I believe that internal conflict creates so much vitriol inside a person that they take it out on the rest of the world”
