are socialists of the belief that the police help more than harm black people? if not, even if you are not an abolitionist. is the task not to communicate a project that addresses exorbitant police budgets -> more police violence -> less public accountability, that comes at the expense of social welfare elsewhere instead of just conceding on it?

The NYPD budget stayed flat and crime went down, but instead of using this as an opportunity to educate the public that funding the police doesn't correlate to more public safety, he makes the opposite case.

Finance capital has been pushing Black people out of neighborhoods like Bedford-Stuyvesant for years and this displacement is happening in cities across the country.
The poster is inaccurate when she says this neighborhood was mostly Black since the 1800s. Bedford-Stuyvesant did not become majority Black until the first stages of "white flight" in the 1950s.
Black removal from the cities of the US is the result of racism and a huge influx of capital. Black displacement has been established public policy for many years.
Also, population change is caused by people moving and not just by property theft. 200,000 Black people have left NYC since 2000. Market manipulation has inflated the price of houses. Working people are no longer assured of home ownership and leave for more affordable cities. This market manipulation also encourages deed theft, because there is more of a motive to steal properties that have increased in value.
There must be a national investigation of property theft. New York City can enact some rather simple regulations to make it more difficult to carry out. More legislation is needed to make the practice illegal and to prosecute the perpetrators.
