Finally, I would like to personally thank @QMUniversity for the opportunity to attend this year’s #RCOT2018 with the QMU Student Development Fund. I gained more knowledge, but maybe more importantly inspiration and confidence heading into the profession upon graduation #grateful
Also, glad to be part of @QMU_OT. @QMUniversity ‘s contributions to the #RCOT2018 included a fabulous opening session from @DuncsOT describing the complexity of OT and the person/therapist in context. As well, I saw great presentations from @MacleanFiona @gcarinlevy #proud
Particularly impressed with @sportforconf ‘s session today. Had some key take home messages from Lyndsay including spreading the #valueofOT, using your therapeutic self to effect social change, and “it’s about the person that walks through the door, not the label they come with”
Jam-packed day 3 @ #RCOT2018 courtesy of @LaughingOT Conference closed with a tear provoking address from David who reminded us that service users and therapists are both experts, change is created together. “Never underestimate what you can do for people, then do more” #inspired
Very proud Queen Margaret students today of our lecturers @SKantartzis , @DuncsOT , Maria and graduate Kristi, congratulations!! @QMU_OT@theRCOT#RCOT2018
Great first day at the #RCOT2018 conference. An inspiring opening session from @PointonChris reminding us of Dr. Kate Granger's legacy & #hellomynameis campaign, followed by an interactive session with Hydebank college for finding your voice through music https://t.co/BLxpAOR6Qo
Interesting-New law in W. Virginia requires doctors to recommend alternative pain management (v. opiods) incl. occupational therapy. AND insurance providers will have to cover 12 visits over 120 days (prescribed by a physician)

Day 2 at #RCOT2018. Take homes: the importance of seeing the human being in healthcare stories @PaulBurstow states the importance of not asking “what is the matter WITH you, but what matters TO you”. Happy I get to experience my first conference with great @QMU_OT students.
Narratives are little portals into each others perspectives. Something that could continue to benefit our global community, one without borders #RCOT2018#OccupationalTherapy
Great fun at the conference debate at #RCOT2018, good comments, a spirited fight from both sides, and lots of take aways. Congrats on the victory @preston_jenny !
#RCOT18 Chris Pointin gives a poignant account of his a wife Kate's #hellomynameis campaign. Kate's 4 key values: 1. Communication: saw how poor this can be, 2. The little things matter when you're a patient, 3. Pt centred care: never told med change, 4. See me, not the disease
How can you envision that 1 in 5? To put it in perspective, in Canada, that would be equal to the populations of Nunavut, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, PEI, Newfoundland, and the Yukon and Northwest Territories combined! #BellLetsTalk
