Entering passphrase on device, verifying full addresses on screen, etc

He’s referencing the possibility of bad entropy on your seed

The seed and passphrase are combined into the HMAC512 blender to get your private key

So you can use BEEF 12x as your seed, and still be safe if you have a sufficiently complex passphrase

@BTCTacoHodl Per this summary, if you did dice you’re good. The failure is downstream of using Coldcard to generate your entropy which isn’t the case when you roll dice

Ditto for passphrase if it’s strong enough, as that’s in addition to the seed

@TheBTCTherapist There are some write up’s on X. TLDR the RNG fails due to a bug in the code, so the Coldcard combines UID with clock for entropy instead of erroring out.
Since UID and clock have limited values the end result is only keys generated from the combination of those values IIRC.
