1. Harare used to be employment base for many. How many stories of people who could not raise bus fare from Harare to go back to Murehwa?

2. How many stories of people who became successful of selling tomatoes in Murehwa whereby those who went to look for jobs in Harare were compared with this tomatoes seller?.

3. George Charamba has been in government for over 40 years and government is not growing yet he hold the only post in government. If we want work where do go.

4. No everyone is farmer, or a miner yet we all have to feed families.

5. Many Zimbabwean in South Africa a house maids and garners and that is their skill.

6. Whether he is in Zimbabwe or in what ever land, he cannot become a Dr or Engineer because he is in South Africa.

7. If success is measured, it must be measured from potential and not just counting heads.

8. The fact that South Africans are complaining of losing their housemaid and Gardner's jobs such that the whole country must close shop must tell you the importance and value of housemaid and gardners' jobs.

9. There are people with companies, factories, farms employing general workers and the South African are not demanding the mines or farms neither are we seeing doctors or nurses in the street complaining for better wages.

10. What we see is the lowest skills competition.

12. In an economy we will always have people of limited skills and when Zimbabweans are head counted the count the same as a graduate but the economy does not provide on his skill he move to where his potential can be utilised.

15. Even if you are accused of offence, at least in South Africa the government official will not abuse with impunity. At least you can report him or her somewhere.

17. Before cellphone came there were poor people. When cellphone came, it was a measure of worthiness but today poor people have cellphones without network or those to communicate with.

The day Zimbabweans understand that everything Zanupf does is pre planned and scripted is the day they will stop praising so called CCC MPs who voted against the bill.

Gonzo can tell you for free that out of 40 CCC MPs who voted against the bill, less than 5 are genuine& the rest voted in that way on behalf of Zanupf that wants to give the whole process some legitimacy.

Zanupf would rather win with a handful of opposition than to win outright as that would tarnish their legitimacy.

Do you think Hwende and Matewu are sincere when they say “Zanupf didnt have the majority but were assisted by CCC MPs”. They are uttering these words on behalf of Zanupf as per the script written by Zanupf.

One thing is clear @DavidColtart, Ziyambi Ziyambi would never have pursued the parliamentary route if he had been unsure of the outcome.

This was choreographed long back. They knew the number of those that had been captured via Tshabangu & Hwende, & even allowed for some potential betrayal in that matrix.

Tshabangu was unleashed exactly to solve that conundrum - to bridge the gap in support in ZANU PF.

Some Zimbabweans are still to wake up to this reality, even at this late stage.

The courts will not bring any respite for the very same reasons.

That's why those two cases argued by @ProfMadhuku didn't gain traction.

They were strategically temporarily immobilised or mothballed.

This is political skulduggery of the highest levels!

2023 election does not need court challenge at any court.

It was declared by a constitutionally accredited election observers as not compliant with constitution.

What is it to challenge there and challenging who?

The constitution is clear in s2 in that any action inconsistent with it is invalid and obligations imposed by is binds the whole state including judiciary.

It is clearly stated in section 2 and obligations imposed by constitution must be fulfilled.

s155(2) says the state must do everything within its power to give effect to principles in s155(1).

We were there before in 2002, when population census in Uzumba and election result did not tally and Zimbabwe was forced to have harmonized elections after a delimitation report by independent Electoral body and parliament of 2005 just lasted 3 years because of absence of principle of universal suffrage, where were you?

As long as election fail delimitation exercise you cannot hold next election without correcting that and the government that stands on the basis of election that has no legitimate boundaries has no express authority to make any change of constitution without the people

The arguments about the CCC constitution and structures are hypocritical to the core and I fully agree with the leadership of @nelsonchamisa on this matter - for the following reasons -

1. Never mind the public truth that, to contest elections, CCC had to submit a constitution to ZEC and the constitution was submitted by @JMafume, Ian Makone and Ellen Shiriyedenga- the hypocrisy is that we are all crying that #NOTOED2030 is violating the national constitution, the supreme law of the land, but somehow the same people argue that the CCC constitution was supposed to stop him from hijacking the party using an imposter. Let's stop these lies and work together for common interest. If a constitution can stop ED, then why should @nelsonchamisa do anything about CAB3?

2. If a constitution can do all this that you are saying it should have done for President Nelson Chamisa, why is it not doing it for the people of Zimbabwe. i.e why is the supreme Zimbabwe constitution not stopping #NOTOED2030 from hijacking the whole country this time?

3. You all did not fight in defence of the CCC because you felt it was "Chamisa’s problem". No, it was a violation of the core principles of our constitutional democracy. The parliament passing this Bill and the poor opposition to the Bill is a direct result of Zimbabweans failing and neglecting to defend Nelson Chamisa and the CCC party. It is not Nelson Chamisa who needs CCC, it is the nation that needs multi-party democracy. This was not a matter for Nelson Chamisa alone. We should now learn the lesson of our mistake.

4. We should not accept people in our society who want Nelson Chamisa to fight for them without support. He is our leader but not the Messiah, we ought to support him and fight together. We should never blame him for our own inaction.

5. It is not true that President Nelson Chamisa did nothing about the 2023 election theft and CCC hijack. We all know that -

 (a) there was a collective understanding that going to Court would produce the same 2018 Con Court result and therefore futile.

(b) President Nelson Chamisa is still frantically fighting the 2023 fraud. As late as May 2026 he has been in constant consultations and engagements with SADC on this matter. He has written to all SADC heads of state on numerous occasions. Evidence of all this is available.

(c) he dispatched envoys everywhere in SADC and abroad to pursue the matter of the stolen election riding on the SADC SEOM report.

(d) he left the CCC as a sign of discontent with the hijacking of the people's party. i.e he has done and is doing everything a leader should do.

6. What did the other constitutionalists do when the election was stolen and when CCC party was hijacked? What did those in ZANU-PF fighting CAB3 do when this blatant violation happened? What did the war veterans who fought for one man one vote do? What did we do?

7. Where do we even get the moral high-ground to remember that there is a constitution and to demand collective action when at other critical points of blatant constitutional violations we clapped and ululated for the abuser?

8. My point is that we cannot move together on the basis of lies and hypocrisy. We cannot fight CAB3 in isolation to the fraud that took place in 2023 elections. We should reverse that because it was done to enable this new fraud. Why are allowing and choosing frauds?

9. If we want to promote democracy and constitutionalism in our country we cannot be hypocritical and pick and choose moments as we like. We cannot say CAB3 is worse than removing duly elected people’s representatives and denying millions of Zimbabweans a voice in parliament.

10. @nelsonchamisa remains the only genuine uncompromised leader. He has always fought and defended the constitution without picking and choosing moments whether or not they are politically favourable to him. We want genuine constitutionalism. When a violation happens, we should all rise as a nation without choosing.

1. When I read comment section of this post, I am tempted to believe that our people are the actual problem.

because I know you as proponents of referendum but surprisingly find you challenging the statistics of this parliamentary port folio report on "public view".

3. You are making big mistakes guys. How then where you advocating for referendum? How did you expect referendum to happen without this statistics? Wake up mhani guys.

4. The whole idea is not to run away from every shadow that you come across.

5. Without a public view consultation held in terms of s328(4) we would not know if there are people saying yes or no to CAB3. Only an official exercise called up in a Government Gazette could tell us if there are people saying Yes or No to CAB3.

6. Because a Bill had been presented, the Yes proponent was an obvious point that could be affirmed by silence and if no one had said No to CAB3 the statistics of how many said yes or no was not going to be relevant because an assumption of Yes would have been drawn from what was presented.

7. It is now official that there are people who do not agree with CAB3 and there are people agreeing with CAB3.

8. That is all you need to call for referendum. Period.

9. Section 328(4) is meant to either give or deny s117(1) of constitution, legislative authority to amend constitution to the legislature.

10. It is crystal clear process, that starts with s117(1) which says "The legislative authority of Zimbabwe is derived from the people and is vested in and exercised in accordance with this Constitution by the Legislature".

11. It must be clear from onset there is a process of drawing legislative authority from people of Zimbabwe that must first be done by a proclamation and people of Zimbabwe say "yes legislated" or "No do not legislate" before Parliament legislate. If the response is yes you legislate and if it is no you do not, if response is divided you seek majority will (not majority view).

12. Section 117(2)(a) separate the process of amending constitution from process of making laws of good governance, order and peace and the significant difference is between s328(4) and s152(3).

13. It is critical that any proponent of referendum arguing it on any forum understand this part.

14. Because s152(3) delegate parliamentary legal committee the duty to examine a bill other than a constitutional Bill, then authority to legislate bills other than constitutional Bill is drawn on election of members of parliament.

15. Never the less, the process of drawing legislative authority for constitutional Bill or other bills is generally the same. One is guided by s328(4) and the other is guided by s157(3).

16. Election is for persons but referendum is for issues but both start with a proclamation. A proclamation that give rise to election announces a vacancy and call for nomination but a proclamation that give rise to a referendum announces an "issue"/ "matter" and call for views. In both instances time is given to nominate or give submissions. That does not translate to election. Gathering more nominees does not translate to win of election and gathering views of people saying one view does not mean win election. Election is called on the basis that there are more than one nominees and again referendum is called because there are more than one view. Period.

17. No election is held without nomination of more than one candidate and no auction is done without bidders. No referendum is held without two or more opposing views.

18. Of course, a proclamation was given by Speaker in terms of s328(4), seeking public view over the Bill CAB3 and calling people to send their views to clerk of parliament.

19. Of course a window period was given and observed. From the public view there are only two contesting views, the Yes and the No.

20. You now hold the official statistics required to call for referendum use it to your best advantage

21. It takes 5 registered voters to nominate a constituency MP and for 210 constituencies, 1050 nominees are enough to call for elections in all 210 constituencies and

22. In this case, we have more than 2900. That is more than enough threshold required to cause the matter to go for referendum.

23. How were you advocating for referendum if you do not have that which must be on ballot?

24. Me and my president @nelsonchamisa are not stupid. We have studied the enemy and mastered the art.

25. If the likes of @JamesonTimba @BitiTendai Air Marshal Muchena, @mawarirej @freemanchari have always been genuine in their calling for referendum, then they should never miss this opportunity with a documented proof that do two things, first confirm that there is no one view over the legislation of CAB3, there are some who say Yes and there are some who say No. In that regard legislature has no express will of the people to amend constitution as demonstrated by secrete ballot. The second part is the report is coming from parliament itself which is not an independent electoral body, the actual determination of what to do from the two opposing views can only come from a secrete ballot run by independent electoral body.

26. The message sent by my president saying the citizen have won is true. Once you produce a statistic on official document stating that there are two opposing views over a single matter, you have declared a referendum.

27. So politically you must celebrate and demand the referendum date

#CAB3 failed to protect Stoneridge residents and Hara South citizens. Their hopes at Hopley was sold to the Chinese.

#CAB3 has made war veterans, their families and children the second class citizens in their own country.

#CAB3 gives the Chinese, Belarusians, and Russians more rights than Zimbabwean citizens. It protect foreigners more than natives!!

#CAB3 does not protect property rights. Citizens DO NOT OWN their land. Land is owned by a few while the majority live at risk of eviction without notice.

#CAB3 does not address the rights of the elderly, their pensions, healthcare and social welfare.

#CAB3 is silent on the disabled, the blind, deaf and dumb and the vulnerable. They are its first victims. Total disregard.

It is a fundamental principle of journalism that reporters should report the news, not manufacture it. When editorial standards are compromised in this way, public trust and our freedoms are put at risk.
