@CatholicFQ How beautifully written and conveyed. Mary, mother of the church herself is ever obedient to the church. During her major apparitions, like at Guadeloupe, Lourdes and Fatima, the "mystics" are sent back to the local bishops. Isn't that obedience to the church and hence its head?

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Francis Cardinal Arinze
Born November 1, 1932 – A Living Witness of Faith and Service
Today, we give thanks to God for the gift of Francis Cardinal Arinze, a towering figure in the Catholic Church and one of Nigeria’s most esteemed sons. Born on November 1, 1932, in Eziowelle, Anambra State, Nigeria, Cardinal Arinze has dedicated over seven decades of his life to the service of God and humanity, embodying humility, wisdom, and fidelity to the Gospel.
A man of deep faith and intellect, Cardinal Arinze served as Prefect of the Secretariat for Non-Christians (now the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue) from 1984 to 2002, fostering dialogue and understanding among the world’s religions. From 2002 to 2008, he led the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, guiding the universal Church in matters of liturgy and sacramental life.
A close collaborator and trusted advisor to Pope Saint John Paul II, Cardinal Arinze played a significant role in shaping the Church’s approach to worship, evangelization, and interreligious relations during a period of immense global change. In recognition of his service, he was created Cardinal in 1985 and later named Cardinal-Bishop of Velletri-Segni in 2005—a title once held by John Paul II himself.
According to Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Francis Arinze remains “the only surviving Council Father among the few who represented Nigeria at the Second Vatican Council” (1962–1965). This distinction places him as a living link between the historic renewal of Vatican II and the contemporary life of the Church.
At 93 years old, Cardinal Arinze continues to inspire countless faithful with his clarity of thought, pastoral warmth, and joyful witness to Christ. His life is a testament to perseverance, holiness, and faithful service to the Church universal.
“To serve God is not a burden, but a privilege.” — Francis Cardinal Arinze
We thank God for his life, his wisdom, and his enduring witness.

@NashKen7@MrCasey62 I am growing old-St Teresa of Avila. Just read this poem prayer and moved me to tears, later found a youtube video on the interior castle. Just wonderful.
@5habbyGirl@Vitus_oss Exactly my point. Even the Our Father is intonated, (Pater Noster). Most prayers during mass as conveyed by the priest and even responses are also intonated.
