ILA PRESIDENT PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE NATIONAL JUDICIAL INSTITUTE
On Thursday, 23rd July, 2026, President of the International Law Association, Nigeria @Nigeria_ILA, Professor Damilola S. Olawuyi, SAN (@dsolawuyi) paid a courtesy visit to the Administrator of the National Judicial Institute (@NJI_Nigeria), Hon. Justice Babatunde Adeniran Adejumo, OFR (Rtd.)
The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional collaboration and explore areas of mutual cooperation in advancing judicial capacity on international law and access to justice in Nigeria.
@Nigeria_ILA's delegation included Sharon Oso (Media and Advocacy Committee, ILA Nigeria), Moronkeji Kolawole (ILA Program Manager), Muna Jallow, CEO, Africa Agenda Network and Okparavero O. Ejiro (Member, ILA Nigeria)
ILA NIGERIA AND NIALS CONCLUDE ONE WEEK INTENSIVE CERTIFICATE OF ADVANCED STUDIES IN INTERNATIONAL LAW AND DIPLOMACY.
The closing ceremony featured powerful remarks from the Director General of @nialsorg, Professor Abdulqadir Abikan, and the President of @Nigeria_ILA who charged the successful participants to apply the knowledge of international law in all areas to advance global justice and peace.
This was followed by the presentation of certificates and awards to the best individual oralist, best advocacy and the ILA President��s Award for the Spirit of International Law and Diplomacy.
The high point was the formal conferment of the Certificate of Advanced Study in International Law and Diplomacy to the successful participants and the presentation of certificates by the Director General of NIALS NIGERIA, the President of ILA Nigeria, Prof. @dsolawuyi, Secretary General Clement Ighodarho Osuya FCIArb,UK .

Prof. Damilola Olawuyi, Chairperson of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights, has urged African countries to take an active and leading role in international treaty negotiations on #bizhumanrights to ensure that global treaties address the continent’s unique challenges, warning that passive participation could result in agreements that overlook Africa’s needs.
