Gurus have imparted various methods of worship to us. We learn how and why to perform Daiva worship, the puṇyā, and the benefits we gain by worshipping through the Guru's upadeśās and guidance. Thus, the Gurus are our guides, directing us on the right path and conferring upadeśās on the ways to attain the goal of this rare human birth.  There is a pūjā to receive the Guru's grace. It is the Guru pūjā, also known as Vyāsa pūjā. On the day of the Guru pūjā, known as Vyāsa Pūrṇimā, as in ఎందరో మహానుభావులు (Endarō Mahānubhāvulu - Great persons with extraordinary jñana, who have lived in all ages), we perform this Guru pūjā honoring all the teachers who have steered this deśā on the right path and worshiping the Jñāna Gurus who have bestowed bhakti, jñāna, and Mei-jñana (True knowledge) on us. We also receive the grace of Krṣṇa Paramātmā by performing the Vyāsa pūjā. In addition to being a Davia  Avatārā, Krṣṇa Paramātmā reigns as the Jagadguru.

वसुदेवसुतं देवं कंसचाणूरमर्दनम् । (vasudevasutaṃ devaṃ kaṃsacāṇūramardanam |)देवकीपरमानन्दं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥ (devakīparamānandaṃ kṛṣṇaṃ vande jagadgurum ||)(we bow to Lord Kṛṣṇa, son of Vasudeva, who killed the great demons Kaṁsa and Cāṇūra, who is the source of great joy to Mother Devakī; and who is the Guru of the universe). On this day, we should worship Kṛṣṇa Paramātmā, who also stands as our Guru by bestowing upon us the Bhagavad Gītā upadeśā.
