@notreconciled picked up North Sun, a book that came out only a few months ago, at a bookstore and saw that it was already a POD copy. Wondered if Ingram was getting Deep Vellum to list on Lightening Source from the get go...
Canada's number one author? That would be bpNichol, who has his own lane.
This guy? I checked and he doesn't even have a single component of municipal infrastructure named after him.
I'll be introducing Trás-os-Montes by António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro on Friday at @TIFF_NET. Rarely screened and newly restored, this is the first film of the duo's Nordeste trilogy & arguably the foundational work of Post-Revolution Portuguese cinema https://t.co/iFU5ohtKfC
I wonder if it's not the opposite with Zizek though, a Slovenian born Yugoslavian, with the fantasy of a European Zagranitsa. From his youth writing for Mladina and running for LDS, you find a desire for peripheral integration. You never see him write about Tito, for instance.
The most affordable way to get a copy of this in years, setting aside that fortuitous trip to @kwbookstore I made 15 years ago, when they seemed to be having trouble giving it away! 😏

The NYC second-hand book scene is truly unmatched. I spent the past few days digging in the shelves and somehow managed to come back with all of these, like I was Marco Polo loading my carry-on bag with silks and spices heretofore unknown to my fellow countrymen.
