During the Kargil War, Captain Vikram Batra led his company in the successful capture of Point 5140, where he displayed exceptional courage by neutralising four enemy soldiers in hand-to-hand combat.

In the subsequent assault on Point 4875, he led from the front despite intense enemy fire, eliminated five enemy soldiers at point-blank range and continued to inspire his troops even after sustaining grievous injuries, leading to the capture of the objective.

For his most conspicuous bravery, indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, #PVC.

#विजयदिवस सिर्फ एक तारीख नहीं - यह 1971 के युद्ध में भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों की ऐतिहासिक और निर्णायक जीत का प्रतीक है।

यह वह विजय थी जिसमें मुक्ति बहिनी और भारतीय सशस्त्र बल कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर खड़े हुए और मिलकर बांग्लादेश की स्वतंत्रता की लड़ाई को निर्णायक मोड़ दिया।

एक ऐसी जीत जिसने भारत के सैन्य इतिहास को बदल दिया, दक्षिण एशिया का नक्शा नया बनाया और एक नए राष्ट्र - बांग्लादेश - को जन्म दिया।

साथ ही, इसने पाकिस्तान सेना द्वारा एक पूरे समुदाय पर चल रहा अत्याचार, उत्पीड़न और क्रूरता भी समाप्त कर दिया।

केवल 13 दिनों में भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों ने अद्भुत साहस, मजबूत इरादा और श्रेष्ठ सैन्य कौशल दिखाया, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप 93,000 पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों ने आत्मसमर्पण किया - जो दुनिया के सबसे बड़े सैन्य आत्मसमर्पणों में से एक है।

यह दिन भारत की मित्रों के प्रति निष्ठा और शत्रुओं के लिए स्पष्ट संदेश का प्रमाण है- तब से अब तक - जब भारत न्याय के लिए खड़ा होता है, तो विजय निश्चित होती है।

#VijayDiwas: The Eternal Story of the 1971 War

#VijayDiwas is not just a date - it stands as the symbol of the historic and decisive victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 War.

It was a victory where the Mukti Bahini and the Indian Armed Forces fought shoulder-to-shoulder, together giving the Bangladesh Liberation struggle its decisive thrust toward freedom.

A triumph that reshaped India’s military history, redrew the map of South Asia and gave birth to a new nation - Bangladesh.

It also brought an end to the brutal atrocities, oppression and cruelty inflicted upon an entire community by the Pakistani Army.

In just 13 days, the Indian Armed Forces displayed extraordinary courage, unshakable resolve and exceptional military skill, culminating in the surrender of 93,000 Pakistani soldiers - one of the largest military surrenders in global history.

This day stands as a testament to India’s loyalty to its friends and a clear message to its adversaries - Then and Now - When India rises for Justice, Victory is Inevitable.
