Proposed for 2024: KY: HB5 severely restricts the work of bail funds. GA: SB63 requires bail funds to register as a professional bond company, limits bail posting to 3/year. Failure to comply is a crime. TN: HB2630 prohibits bail payments from charitable bail funds. 3/3

The solidarity & support bail funds received in 2020 contributed to so much freedom, but every year since at least 10+ states file bills trying to regulate & criminalize them as punishment. These laws exist now in NY, TX, & IN, but so many more are a constant threat. 1/3
