Grateful to Jessica Eaglin for this @jotwell review of my book Radical Acts of Justice @thenewpress, highlighting an expansive idea of what it means to "do" Criminal Law: https://t.co/I3rNy8fxQu
Today’s social movements are meeting the existential crises of our time with vision, scale, and infrastructure. They reflect a growing sense that neoliberal law and politics have failed the majority.
Join us for a discussion tomorrow.
Time: 5pm-6:30PM
ALL ARE WELCOME.
New #WeDeserveToBeSafe report shows that NYers in heavily policed neighborhoods want and need a different approach to community safety that invests in community resources—not more policing & criminalization—and holds NYPD accountable for abuse. https://t.co/VUxdqLEa6M
I'm learning so much from this @LPEblog@MovementLawLab symposium. Like when I got to this moment in today's post: "what better way to subjugate people to a specific political and economic order than to dismantle networks of solidarity between individuals and communities?"
Yesterday’s @BKBF lineup at @brooklynlaw was incredible, especially this final one on Debt and Solidarity, organized & moderated by BLS Prof. Vijay Raghavan, with books by @LukeMessac @astradisastra @melissabjacoby & Chrystin Ondersma:
Remember: Tomorrow Sept. 25, Prof. Raj Jayadev will celebrate the release of his book, "Protect Your People: How Ordinary Families Are Using Participatory Defense to Challenge Mass Incarceration," with a panel will be moderated by Prof. Jocelyn Simonson.

Very misleading, by Mayor Adams. The cop AND 3 civilians shot & injured *by NYPD*. 1 bystander reportedly shot in the head.
Injuries are from cops shooting recklessly on crowded subway, in pursuit of someone they say didn't pay $2.90 fare.
These NYPD actions make us less safe.
I’m v. proud of @brooklynlaw as the 29th most cited faculty, and 🙏🏻 to be 1 of the 8 women among our 10 most cited faculty members. Shout out to our assoc dean @j_simonson who champions our vibrant scholarly community (& helps our count) https://t.co/9i2S3U8jQu
