"HIV, TB, malaria, maternal & child health, mental health—all these are at risk. But it doesn’t stop there. The loss of jobs means families can’t afford school fees, impacting education. How is our goverment preparing to respond?" – @lmworeko, Executive Director ICWEA.
What does sustainability mean for communities moving into COP25?
It means leadership & local ownership, community-led responses, addressing social, economic & health challenges, sustainable financing (e.g. social contracting), strengthening resilience, and enabling environments.
This meeting aims to develop a country-led sustainability plan for Uganda's HIV response enabling the nation to lead efforts in ending HIV & AIDS as a public health threat beyond 2030. These engagements emphasize country ownership, with communities placed at the center.
