The use of Twitter in engaging in discussions took a while to get used to, but once I learned it, it was all worth it. It's easy to reply to people and post your own thoughts. Twitter was the social media of choice when engaging in class discussions.
I enjoyed this class as it opened my eyes to social media. Many things such as privacy, Bloom's Taxonomy, digital citizenship and more have made me aware that social media is not just about adding friends. Overall, my level of satisfaction with this class is high.
We are in the fastest growing technological era in the history of humankind. In the past 10 years, we have evolved so much in our choice of electronics such as VCRs, cathode TVs, pagers, dial-up internet, fax machines, etc. I can't imagine what the next 10 years will be like.
Social media may be creating new connections, but what is it doing in real life? Making you less likely to hang out with your friends because you have a group chat?
It's funny to see Disney remaking all their movies nowadays in animation. They change all the discriminatory bits out and release it to the public. They are trying to capitalize on their older films.
The simple idea of connectivity has made social media so popular. Sharing ideas, talking over the phone, messaging, following what your favorite celebrities are doing on their day to day life are all some benefits of social media.
With all that is happening in the world, social media keeps up with it. Many news networks do not report certain incidents, but people do. It's crazy to see different perspectives of an event shot through the cameras on peoples phones, as opposed to traditional news reporters.
@DanielA13231823 When the online hate slowly trickles to real life hate. That's where I draw the line, as people can shrug off whatever has been said online.
@HeaneyKayla@Alexand47375137 It also allows people to donate online, rather than going to an event and donating. Online networking has made it easier to connect to people.
@Alexand47375137 @alexand13421565 It also showcases their situation in their country, where news does not report on these issues. Social media is news by the people.
@Alexand47375137 Simply put, if they keep making the films the way they used to, they wouldn't exist anymore. If they wanted to keep making movies, they had to change.
@LucasRa27083414 On a research paper, no. There is simply too many variables at play, such as the person's credibility, education, his background, etc. We do not know who the person is sometimes.
@Alexand47375137@AlessiaVella9 YouTube is good if you want additional perspective of what is going on. You get different angles from different people who were there witnessing the whole thing.
@DejoKevin Does it come with instructions on how to take it and when? On a serious note, social media addiction is a real issue and it's important for those who have it seek help.
