@Merlin3711 @CookeeCharlie Baffling how we think he should be in the side? Before this FC game he averaged 16…. (First year in Div 1). He’s scored his first runs of the season. Didn’t look great playing for the Lions. He hasn’t proved himself yet. Let’s not mention his bowling.

@CookeeCharlie If we didn’t bowl Bashir (the better bowler) why would we bowl Rehan? With Archer who wont bowls 20 over a day.. We would need someone to hold an end up. Not go at 4+ an over. Neither of his attributes with the ball or bat are good enough?

Don’t understand the demand for Rehan Amed for the coming games. Averaging 16 with the bat in the CC this summer. Nor does his recent form shout for a test call up…10 wickets at 34 (at 4 an over) isn’t a viable bowling option.

Future 6/7. Absolutely. Let him develop. Not now.

@CFitzy7 @thomasguy789 How does batting Rehan Ahmed at 7 change that? He just got bowled out for 6 by Essex 3rd seamer after bowling at 4.5rpo.

He has scored 60 first class runs in 2026!!! This is insanity. Add to that he bowls at over 4rpo in CC it’s ridiculous that he’s an England allrounder

@mattjones_sport 100% Disagree. Rehan has 10 wickets at 34.7 this season (going @ 4 an over). We didn’t bowl Bashir in the 1st test > Rehan wouldn’t be bowled. If there’s better batting options available, they should be selected before? (Not forgetting Rehan is Ave 16.6 with the bat this season)

- Opens up 6️⃣ for Rew / Joe Clarke
- Seem attack is very average
- Go 4 seamers and make Root / Bethell hold up an end
- Bashir now in over Will Jacks? 🤢
- Selectors miss Joe Clarkes runs?

@MartinK35343252 @WG_RumblePants The rest of the test side all play other forms of cricket (Hundred, franchsie, T20 etc) & I imagine you would argue Crawley, Duckett, Smith, Pope etc aren’t world class? Foakes averages 38 on a flat deck in first class. He’s a good CC player just miles off being world class

Same keeper who has played 1 T20 blast game for Surrey in 2 years? Maybe youre on your own thinking he’s the worlds best keeper
