Your voice matters. Stand with the families.
https://t.co/PK9HTl1Mwi “We live in misery, but that has never mattered to us,” she shared. “Here we have no electricity, no water, no refrigerator. In this narrow flat we suffocate, we drink warm water. I have health issues, Babul has, Babul’s mother too. That is part of our life—we have continued with it. But a child’s disappearance is not part of life. We cannot adjust to live with that.” My latest.
The X (@byc_leaders ) account created to campaign for the release of incarcerated @BalochYakjehtiC leaders has been suspended by @X .
This is deeply disturbing and concerning, as international platforms are increasingly shrinking the space for dissenting voices.
The BYC is a peaceful rights movement, with its leaders @MahrangBaloch_ recognized internationally and featured by @TIME , included in @BBC100women , and nominated for the nobel peace prize and other human rights awards.
By suspending such accounts, @X , platform that claims to champion free speech is effectively reinforcing the very state censorship that silences these voices in Pakistan. I urge X to reconsider this decision. @ElonMuskPD@Safety@SpaceX@XShop@premiumbusiness

Today completes 33 days of the Baloch families' continuous sit-in in front of the National Press Club, Islamabad. Despite facing harsh weather, intimidation, and neglect, their demands remain unchanged.
These families sit in the capital of Pakistan with nothing but hope and determination, carrying the pain of missing loved ones and the courage to resist silence. Their struggle is not only for their own children but for justice, and basic human rights of all.

He believed in peace, in voices coming together, in telling stories that matter.
And for that, he was taken from us.
We share his words so they are not silenced.

Today marks the ninth consecutive day of the protest camp by the family of Zahid Ali, a 25-year-old International Relations student at the University of Karachi, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on 17th July 2025, along with his rickshaw that he drove part-time to support his family.
Led by his ailing father, Abdul Hameed—a hepatitis patient—the family continues to sit outside the Karachi Press Club, with a single demand: safe release of Zahid.
It has now been 28 days since Zahid’s disappearance. Authorities remain silent, offering no answers and no justice. His case is one of countless enforced disappearances targeting Baloch youth in Karachi and Balochistan.
We call on students, activists, journalists, and all concerned citizens to join the camp, amplify the family’s voice, and demand justice.

SEEMA BALOCH
Location: Awaran
Relation to Victim: Sister of Shabir Baloch, forcibly disappeared on 4th October 2016
Before 2013, Seema Baloch lived a quiet life within the walls of her home. That changed when Pakistani forces raided her house twice, in 2013 and 2015. Her real fight began on 4th October 2016, when her brother, Shabir, was enforcedly disappeared.
From that day, Seema left home and joined the streets, travelling from city to city, staging protests, and sitting at Quetta and Karachi Press Clubs. She even endured a seven-day hunger strike at Mama Qadeer’s camp. The state met her courage with threats, tear gas, and arrests.
In 2021, she set up a protest camp in Islamabad, moving to D-Chowk despite a brutal crackdown. She met then–Prime Minister Imran Khan, but no answers came. In 2022, she led a two-month protest in Quetta alongside Dr. Mahrang, facing beatings, shelling, and live fire. She stood at every major protest in Karachi, joined the 2023 BYC’s camp in Islamaabad, and was at the 2024 Baloch National Gathering in Gwadar.
Now, in 2025, Seema is back in Islamabad demanding the release of her brother and BYC leaders.

Day 21: The chair is still empty.
For 21 days, Changaiz hasn’t been in his shop.
The books on his desk are gathering dust.
He wasn’t dangerous. He sold books.
We’re still counting the days until he’s back.

FATI BALOCH
Location: Quetta
Relation to Victim: Wife of Mitta Khan Marri, forcibly disappeared on 18th May 2020
Fati Baloch’s life changed the day her husband was enforcedly disappeared by Pakistani Forces. Left with three children, she refused to suffer in silence and chose the road of resistance. She joined Mama Qadeer’s protest camp in Quetta, stood in protests, demanding justice for the disappeared.
Working as a school sweeper to provide for her children, she has no permanent home, moving between relatives while sacrificing jobs to attend protests. She has marched in Islamabad with BYC in 2023, stood at the Baloch National Gathering in 2024, and joined the Dalbandin Jalsa in 2025.
Now, in Islamabad again, she risks her livelihood to demand her husband’s release. Fati Baloch’s courage stands as a beacon of hope, proving that in Balochistan, even in the face of loss, she is the woman of resistance.

For the past six days, the family of 25-year-old Zahid Ali, an International Relations student at the University of Karachi, has been holding a sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club. Zahid was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on 17 July 2025 along with the rickshaw he drove part-time to help support his family.
Leading the protest is his ailing father, Abdul Hameed, a hepatitis patient, who despite his deteriorating health, continues to demand his son’s immediate and safe release.
It has now been 24 painful days since Zahid was taken. His abduction is yet another example of the systematic enforced disappearances targeting Baloch students and citizens in Karachi and Balochistan.
