First off, I'm truly honored to receive a compliment from one of the absolute best traders out there. If you aren't following him yet, you need to fix that immediately. He is hands down one of the top equity traders in this space.

Just to add a few thoughts—while I’m still cautious about calling a fundamental bottom in gold, Thursday’s NFP print forced the market to scale back its hyper-aggressive tightening bets.

We could certainly dissect the finer details of the NFP data, like the participation rate, but the tape tends to fixate on the headline payroll figure. The 2s10s curve had been on a relentless flattening path recently, but it shifted into a bull steepening regime right after the report dropped.

The market had tilted so sharply into the 'hawkish Warsh' narrative the short-rate space and the USD became heavily overcrowded. I suspect the upcoming data won't back up those extreme bets, so I’m anticipating a gradual unwinding.

As that unwind plays out, gold, PGMs, and potentially BTC could catch a significant bid. For gold to kick off a clean, beautiful rally, it really needs to be fueled by a USD rollover.

The absolute best case scenario would be the DXY breaking below 100 and building downside momentum. That said i’m fully aware of the risk that if easing US growth expectations coincide with a rollback of tightening bets from foreign central banks like the ECB, the greenback might not flush as hard as people think.

That’s exactly why I’m keeping my guard up. While it would be ideal if the market just rallies from here without giving the weak hands a chance to get back in, I’m holding onto a massive cash cushion to buffer against the risk of another flush.

Because I don't view this as a definitive floor, retail investors trying to play gold via leveraged ETFs are likely setting themselves up for a world of psychological and financial pain.

Frankly, anyone trading 3x leveraged gold or gold miners is out of their mind. In a space this vol, it blows right past what a retail account can realistically survive, meaning they'll likely get stopped out or capitulate long before we ever reach the final destination.

The right playbook here is either using derivatives to build a structured expression or slowly accumulating low-leverage cash equities. At the very least, the r/r ratio has cleared into an highly attractive zone.

As I mentioned in my previous post, outside of gold, my eyes are firmly on Japanese equities. While I'm strictly trading the Nikkei index on a tactical, fast-money basis, I used the June flush to scoop up a few Japanese humanoid names for the core portfolio and plan to sit on them for a while.

What appeals to an old school investor like me is the Japanese humanoid space actually features companies with real numbers printed on their balance sheets.

While humanoids are my high conviction favorite, I’m looking to expand into other sectors within Japan. I haven't spotted the right entry points just yet, so I guess I’ll just pray for a fat finger error flashes the Nikkei down 30% lmao.
