Tens of thousands of Academic Workers held the line on Day 2 of our multi-unit statewide strike. We made UC return to the bargaining table, despite having previously declined to schedule any sessions for today. With our growing power, we WILL win fair contracts! @UAWonStrike
@DrLJBrady The school I attended did not do lab rotations. We had mandatory chalk talks after seminar each week (in the fall semester) for all the faculty (whether they were accepting students or not) to talk about their research. I did not find it resourceful.
@vikasnavaratna Well, the voice of "part-time" postdocs can be very influential. I bet their voices can persuade students wanting to attend grad school to pursue another profession. 🤷♀️
@UTDPainLab @drugmonkeyblog @superkash Does this approach also help with the lab atmosphere making sure the incoming-to-be student meshes well with the lab?
RSVP for #Vitae2022. This event annually highlights investigators and their pioneering research programs. Six researchers will be spotlighted at this year’s symposium. https://t.co/Hj0StcVQZY @Jacob_A_George@jackieaton @TheCareyLab @ChaudhuriLab @AChaix_UofUtah @m_p_miller
Today a friend of mine asked me to facetime with his primary school class because they had "a very important question to ask a brain scientist".
Kids: "Where in the brain is our conscience?".....
me: um....the PFC?
