Hey @elonmusk - After test driving a Cybertruck in the US last year I realized I never want another car. It’s the best vehicle Tesla has ever built. Groundbreaking design, incredible technology, super smooth ride and steer by wire is amazing. 💯
Europe may not be a traditional pickup market but Cybertruck isn’t a normal pickup, it’s much more than that. Many of us want it here.
I need a bigger car and tow regularly and with Model X disappearing from the market Cybertruck would be the perfect replacement for my Model Y. Especially now with the new cheaper variant it makes more sense than ever. 💡
Right now it’s not sold in the EU mainly because of type approval and pedestrian safety rules around the stainless steel body and design, but that feels solvable with a slightly modified international version. Some Cybertrucks are already registered in Europe which shows it can be done. 🇪🇺
Please let a few engineers focus on a global Cybertruck version. Europe wants Cybertruck. 📐
I want Cybertruck. 🩶

@gailalfaratx thanks Gail! Here my “ lucky🍀” code, and hopefully very soon FSD for Tesla’s in the Netherlands and all over Europe.

Tesla has been working hard toward shipping Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in Europe for over 12 months now. We have given FSD demos to regulators of almost every EU country. We have requested early access, pilot release programs or exemptions where possible.
We have developed & shared detailed safety evidence for FSD, now public in our latest Safety Report. And we have driven over 1 million kilometers safely on EU roads across 17 different countries (internal testing).
Our main path to success is partnering with the Dutch approval authority RDW to gain exemption for the feature. This involves proving compliance with existing regulations (UN-R-171 DCAS) + filing an exemption (EU Article 39) for yet-to-be-regulated behaviors like Level 2 systems off-highway, system-initiated lane changes with hands-off the wheel etc.
Some of these regulations are outdated and rules-based, which makes FSD illegal in its current form. Changing FSD to be compliant with these rules would make it unsafe and unusable in many cases. While we have changed FSD to be maximally compliant where it is logical and reasonable, we won't sacrifice the safety of a proven system or materially deteriorate customer usability.
As a result, we are gathering evidence to get exemptions on a specific rule-by-rule basis. Unfortunately, the real world fleet-proven safety wins alone are considered insufficient.
Currently, RDW has committed to granting Netherlands National approval in February 2026. Please contact them via link below to express your excitement & thank them for making this happen as soon as possible. Upon NL National approval, other EU countries can immediately recognize the exemption and also allow rollout within their country. Then we will bring it to a TCMV vote for official EU-wide approval.
We're excited to bring FSD to our owners in Europe soon!

Most of 🇪🇺 Europe's Tesla shareholders can't vote.
It is long overdue for regulators to enforce the legal right to vote for all shareholders in Europe in law, as this is a fundamental democratic principle and a public limited company is based on democratic principles.
Our Giga Berlin-Brandenburg team sent me a long list of public facts, so I thought I’d share a few of them.
The entire point of @Tesla is to create innovative zero emissions products and accelerate sustainable energy/transport. But in order to do that well, we also focus on creating the most sustainable factories along with a culture to do the right thing in our community.
• Giga’s per vehicle production only takes 2.28 m3 of water – 33% less than industry average (3.68 m3).
• We recycle up to 100% of our industrial water.
• We have over 8 MW of installed solar capacity and source renewable electricity.
• Afforestation for Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg’s current site is even faster than construction - 300 hectares of high-quality forest (> 60 % of hardwood) have been planted.
• In the nearby area the team has helped ecologically improve 340 hectares of existing forest through underplanting hardwood, making Grünheide, Spreenhagen & Gosen-Neu Zittau forests more diverse and therefore more resilient.
• We incentivize a sustainable lifestyle - 45% of our employees commute by public transport.
• Our shuttle train has a daily passenger volume of over 3000 and is free of charge.
• @TeslaCharging has installed over 500 wall connectors - we think it’s the world’s largest charging park.
• More than 12,000 people work at Giga. -1,500 of them were unemployed and another ~700 were long-term unemployed.
• We partner with 13 different schools, and we are the biggest apprenticeship employer in Brandenburg.
• Grünheide is only to beginning to benefit from Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg – in 2022, the year the factory started production, €6 Million EUR in trade taxes were paid to the
municipality.
• @staatskanzleibb achieved the highest GDP growth rate of all non-city states in Germany in the first half year 2023 - in large part due to Tesla's direct and indirect economic impact.
• The Giga team is supporting a long list of community impact projects through volunteer efforts and partnerships with local youth clubs and associations.
We are considering switching from an electric car to petrol or diesel. I have some questions to see if it really suits me and my family and hope someone knowledgeable can help?
1. I have heard that a petrol car cannot be refueled at home but I have to go to a special place for this? How often do I have to fill up, is it several times a year? Will there be options for refueling at home? We are used to the car being filled up every morning, as sort of by itself.
2. Are there many parts that need to be replaced? The seller said something about oil and filter change, gearbox, timing belt and other service. Do you see how many percent degradation you have on the wearing parts or will they break suddenly?
3. Do I often have to brake with the brake pedal, or can I accelerate and brake with the same pedal as in my current car? Do I get gas back into the tank when I brake or go downhill?
4. Do all petrol and diesel cars have much slower acceleration? I test drove one yesterday and it felt like it took a very long time from when I stepped on the gas pedal until it reacted. Maybe there was something wrong with that particular car?
5. We now pay $0.02/mile but with the petrol it will be about $0.13, even if the new car is cheaper to buy it will very soon cost more. We drive 15,000 miles per year. We hope that more people will use petrol so that the prices will go down... is there such a trend?
6. I have understood that petrol and diesel consist largely of oil. Is it true that the extraction of oil is associated with global environmental problems and widespread wars with absolutely terrible consequences for people around the world, including several world wars and trouble in the last 100 years in which tens of millions of people have died? Is there any solution to that in sight, we don't want to contribute to such crap, do we?
7. My son also heard that petrol cars emit fumes and toxic gases. I’ve read about air pollution and its impact on respiratory health. Are we contributing to that by switching to a petrol or diesel car?
Will these pose risks to our health and the environment?
... have more questions but these are the ones I came up with now. Thanks for all the help!
