@callmeshw@stroughtonsmith I don’t think Apple went into enough detail for me to understand their reasons. But I guess they had done one transition from 30-pin to Lightning before USB-C existed, and I assume they’re trying to delay another transition as much as they can. I’m sure transitions have cost.
@callmeshw@stroughtonsmith I’m not defending Apple’s decision to use Lightning in iPhones. I’m defending their right to do so if they want to. It would be the same for me if other companies were mandated to use Lightning.
@callmeshw@stroughtonsmith And if it remains unchanged for 10 years, EU will probably see it as a win.
I see your point. Yet I’m uncomfortable with such precedents, making potential future legislations less alarming. The fact it seems benign doesn’t make it ok for me. That’s why I was hoping for Micro-USB.
@callmeshw@stroughtonsmith I hope they pick Micro-USB so people can experience today what 10 years from now will be like. It’ll be like living in the future.
A (very) early example of video game art... Atari's Space Race (1973) did not have a ROM to store data. So half of the rocket shape was stored as an 8x16 diode matrix, which was mirrored to create the full shape. This is plainly visible in the schematic and the circuit board. 🚀
