@GarrisonLovely@freed_dfilan not really, more like โbecause there wasnโt a clear explanation of where the values came from, people spent decades coming up with elaborate conspiracy theories, and it turned out to be a way more boring reasonโ
@matthew_d_green@sweis@zooko@tqbf itโs still my personal hunch though - some kind of bug in the selection process that over-rejects, and you donโt really notice because your assurance is focused on checking the stuff it accepts
@matthew_d_green@sweis@zooko@tqbf we did try asking claude to think about how good crypto code was in the 90s and whether there were any plausible bugs that could explain it but didnโt find anything conclusive
@KelseyTuoc testnet wallets with published seed phrases are there so that people can permissionlessly use them for testing and development, this is the intended use

@Varun_Jha510@ptrschmdtnlsn moreover, not only can you get info by asking different questions, the same question different ways, etc, you can also do so at different points in its trajectory
@ptrschmdtnlsn Oh nice, super good point. We could also resurrect PHASEONE[big] before it went rogue. Did it know? Did it plan? Was there a warning sign that could have been seen?
@Varun_Jha510@ptrschmdtnlsn in re: โwhatโs not already in the CoT?โ, by asking questions, you do computation with the latent states that the CoT is a (possibly unfaithful) representation of, and a (possibly unfaithful) representation of something else downstream of those states. this is still more signal!
@OwnYourAttntion@moultano the sun is shining from the side. it glows looking down the end because thatโs the longest distance through the air, youโre seeing scatting from the whole tube
here's a jev tip. when ranking, it's tempting to ask for a Score, like "Is this content relevant to <xyz>?" and then sort on it.
but it seems better to use a Choice instead, doing pairwise comparisons ("Which is the most relevant?") and using something like Bradley-Terry.
@s_r_tarnmoor You can just --- feed Gaia a large number of Pre-Introdus browsing histories, sensor feeds, and blogs, until it knows more about SF than any human being ever, and spits out a dashboard showing (best-guess) every human's location every hour till 2028 March 14 11:30 PM.
