I’m not a Republican. Never been a Republican. Never been a Trump guy. Now that’s out of the way. I put Trumps actual approvals at between 47-49. Which I’ve said before which some are saying now. I have not seen any change since his reelection outside of the polls that are so cooked they’re worthless. I knew he was going to win 2024 despite Selzer, all the joy feeling polls, and hype then.
Almost nothing has changed. It’s their own neuroticisms the too online, too beltway, or the too blue have succumbed too. They are out of touch. The things like Iran or ICE or the whatevers that they think have moved the needle greatly have not.
The democrats have also offered nothing of their own to move it. Theyre going backwards. Theyre approval ratings are worse than ever. They are being eaten by the DSA and the other extreme elements with no end in sight. The republicans will not lose the senate. I don’t think they will lose the house but if it surprises me and they do it will not be by a number of any note.
Prediction markets are likely to see some backlash along with the polls after this cycle. But for now the getting is good too good to pass up so I am indeed putting money where my mouth is.
And again I will say this election is actually going to break people mentally. More than 2016. More than 2024.
@carlworker When you were Ambassador to China, you worked with and spoke highly of the Chinese President who personally pushed for and oversaw executions of men for having dance parties and women for sleeping with more than one person.
I know I know but I can’t help but point out that people aren’t wrong about this statement being somewhat needle threading. It’s narrowly worded as a denial of “treatment,” not an explicit claim that Talarico was never present, evaluated, or admitted at the facility. If I’m not mistaken they have an observation house that they differentiate in their literature as being non treatment. He loses in TX either way. I’m still not convinced this wasn’t a stunt.

It’s already being reported that the original rumor was sourced to Texas state political operative circles, and was simply “This isn’t the flu.”
That almost certainly came from his campaign.
Ok I don’t know what to believe about this story
But his story is not straight
To the Latino group he said he went to an urgent care in Dallas
Here , he says he went to ‘my’ primary care physician
As a person who lives in Austin, his primary care physician would not be at an urgent care in Dallas
@emzanotti Don’t know if it is. Do know that Talarico and his people could end it now while making their enemies look stupid and they haven’t done so. That in itself is telling.
People violate and screw up with HIPAA all the time. It’s not magic. Low level employees make this kind of screw up at almost every medical facility that exists everyday. I don’t know what you think the IQ level or their actual level of care about privacy is but lower your expectations trust me. Most of these psych facilities are staffed with little more than people off the street. Folks answering the phones (even if it’s nurses) aren’t great guards of this information.
It’s obviously true something like this was going on. They were getting close so they trotted him out quickly at a couple impromptu random appearances at the festival and concert. No adversarial questions. Or questions about where he’s been. It’s all so stupid. Rumors still abound in TX that he’s going to withdrawal.
🚨𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: My independent investigation into @JamesTalarico follows the initial reporting by @SaraGonzales and @CarolineWren concerning a reported private aircraft charter traveling from Hamilton, Ohio, to Austin, TX ➡️ Dallas, TX ➡️ Austin, TX.
I personally contacted @LindnerCtrHope in Mason, Ohio, to determine whether Talarico was or had previously been a patient.
During my recorded call, an individual identifying themselves as a female facility employee reportedly stated that Talarico was no longer a patient and had been discharged within the previous 24–48 hours.
Texans deserve accurate, independently verified information about candidates seeking to represent them in the U.S. Senate.
The stakes are too high for speculation.
Someone tell that woman there’s nothing stopping her from giving sweat shirts to those cold people she’s driving past on the street. She seems to believe that there is and it makes her feel bad.
What’s terrifying about this clip isn’t their ideals…these sweet gals’ hearts are certainly in the right place. What’s terrifying is they have the civic, political, and economic literacy of a 9 year old. When a charlatan like Abdul comes along with the Jr High class president schtick of “no more homework and the vending machines are all free!”, they fall for it.
I don’t know how you get to that age with ZERO understanding of supply chains, manufacturing, labor costs…but a lot of folks think that medicine and MRIs and hospitals just materialize out of thin air like unicorn farts. They’ve never built anything in their lives, so they have no concept of how things function…things are just…there. They think milk comes from the store. They think rich people don’t pay taxes, even though the top 1% fund 40% of government with their taxes already, and yet 40% of all Americans contribute ZERO federal income tax at all. These people don’t understand that you could tax the wealthy at 100% and it would only fund the government for 120 days. Then you’re screwed.
Too many Americans simply have zero understanding of how anything works, and even though they’re living in the easiest times in human history, they think things are “terrible out there”. These commie scammers roll through and promise them things that sound great, but aren’t possible in reality, and have devastating consequences if tried…but because they don’t know anything, they fall for it. Sadly, so many of our politicians and their advisors are such atrocious communicators, there’s like zero countervailing narrative to push back on the commie gobbledygook, so we are gonna have to learn the hard way. Guys…we just had a sample of socialism: Covid. We all got universal basic income, and it ended up tripling our costs and they’ll never go down. Ever. That one brief little experiment in command and control government will haunt us the rest of our lives. Bleak stuff, man.
This is the post that jolted me out of a delusion I had been bearing, that the population that was being taken in by the obvious grifters in contemporary politics was the horrendously badly educated woke people under 40. Now I realize, we have millions of frankly stupid people over 40, as well. Depressing.
Tennessee court rules killing of woman may have been justifiable because she was trans. The case is a bitter reminder of the ways LGBTQ people have had their identities weaponized, most notoriously through the legal defense tactic of gay or trans “panic.”https://t.co/NJakzXdgvH
