Runner/foodie, connecting servers in data centers to the internet, MD @Leaseweb Network and @FiberRing, ex-Chair @AMS-IX, Net neutrality adept, views are mine.
Deutsche Telekom vs Meta 🥊 This battle isn’t just about two companies – it's about the future of the open internet & #netneutrality. If sites & apps are forced to pay network fees, it could lead to higher costs and worse service for everyone.

@ETNOAssociation With other internet infrastructure players (hosting providers, CDN’s, Tier 1s) investing a similar/higher percentage of revenues in new capacity (compared to ETNO members), the time comes that large access network providers contribute to the investments of the other players.
@SanderSchimmelp Kunnen Jaap en jij niet een keer een #Zelfspodcast doen over het spanningsveld tussen vrijheid van meningsuiting en het weren van nepnieuws op social media?
@internetthought@deutschetelekom imho @deutschetelekom should first fix Web1 by having an open IP interconnection (peering) policy in Germany, which will vastly improve the user experience of e.g. games and videos for German consumers. Gigabit society and Web3 are useless when you cap capacity to the internet.
@internetthought@Telefonica@CNMC_ES@jmalvpal@ThierryBreton Spain is in the EU Top 3 in FTTH deployment (74% of households) and bandwidth peaks per FTTH subscriber hardly grow. That helps to explain why capex in Telefonica group has dropped below 15% of revenues (below the % of hosting providers, CDNs and Tier 1 networks...). Fair share?
“I struggle to understand what problem we are trying to solve, and if there actually is a problem.”
This was @BartVanDerSloot MD of @Leaseweb's take at our event last week on ‘The impact of #InternetTraffiFees on the #cloud sector & its customers.’

Ok, the presentations and socials at the AMS-IX MORE-IP Conference this week were great, but the real highlight was of course the publication of the 2022 Annual Report (). Great updates from many team members! https://t.co/oNsKbtgYTp
