Think about the fact that NYC has a 12-figure ($100b+) budget and *this doesn’t include the subway*. Yet Mamdani offers *zero* justification for why, despite all this, NYC needs yet more, nor any discussion about why things will be better in the future. Not even an attempt!
This is happening in part because Democrats no longer have a good answer to the question “what are my taxes going to?”
Gesturing toward sprawling federal bureaucracy, international conflicts, and middling public services has caught up with us.
The social contract is fraying.
Here’s the A Better Billion website and report. Hopefully, @ZohranKMamdani and staff play around with it. I’m sure he’d love it. We aren’t bringing back the 9, but lots of great stuff: https://t.co/gXTd0bf3Q3
Woke can’t really die because progressive millennials believe in the fundamentals of Intersectionality in the way that, say, the Chinese believe in something like “saving face”. It’s not a fad. It’s a locked-in cultural ethos
@jenmakesthings@admcrlsn@mcbyrne@RepChuyGarcia It doesn’t work like that. If you wanna win the house you take every seat you can get. Purity testing because MGP represents her constituents gets you nowhere
@Lucilfer221@ChiefHazza@KBP9a91@hutchinson No air quotes. Getting arrested for expressing your views is not “bad,” it’s bad. It’s indefensible, and it says everything that you immediately pivoted to green energy when he was talking about freedom of speech. Say it with your chest.
I’m encouraging every Republican NOT to leave New York. Now that Mamdani will be our mayor, Democrats will pay. The next governor of New York State is a republican. So is the Attorney General. And I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure of it.
